I'm simply amazed you were able to get away with Verizon's intellectual property for 5 years. I'm with the domainers (in general) and not w/the corps but this one is a no-brainer, if there ever was one. The whole term may not be trademarked but Verizon FiOS is known the world over (what's next, you also own XfinityOnDemand.com lol ? ...) By simply owning this thing you're already in hot water. Big time. Verizon won't mess with you, if they contact you it may be for both ceasing to use the domain and they're also free to pursue you legally. This falls under the "blatant violation of TMs" we often hear about
Sedo DOES allow some TMd domains to be parked w/them, and it may not be spotted by their systems or staff if you listed it for sale there either. But sooner or later someone will get a notice from Verizon they won't like. Sedo sold me a TMd LLL acronym a few years ago, I even started a thread about it on DNF. I apparently dropped the ball back then and forgot to do a TM search. And in my case too, no one has ever contacted me all this time, but now I have a buyer and after agreeing on a price I found out by accident it's TMd, although acronyms fall in a different area since millions of people may have those initials, hundreds of companies, etc. But in your case both FiOS and OnDemand are in the domain, you're twice as much in trouble, OnDemand has scores or live TMs, and in your case you've made it clear to anyone that it's in relation to cable TV
And just which member or comment is childish or immature ? The others are right. And other than cancelling (deleting) the domain at once at your registrar I don't know what other legal choices you'd have if you to decided you cannot use it due to its TM infringement, which you should. In my case or your case we can't blame our sellers, and even if you bought it on an auction site like I did that's not total vindication. I'm actually considering selling mine on Sedo with a BIN so it sells quicker. That way at least I'd be selling it thru the same people I bought it, the fact mine is an LLL acronym makes it more a grey area, but not yours. As to your question, the valuation is negative, as in RED, ie by owning it you actually have a liability, its valuation is $0 MINUS the cost you'd incur defending yourself. I know you don't like the responses but did you consider some people on DNF may actually know what they're talking about ? Think about it. My 2 cents of childish and immature advice
:smash:
Sorry guys but I find this forum very immature , I might have posted wrong things in the wrong forums etc , but these "replies" I find very childish and irrelevant.
