Hi. I own phlippa.com.au and wish to operate a marketplace for trading web sites. I believe there are many unhappy Flippa.com traders like myself who have been scammed many thousands $$$ from Flippa sellers due to the relaxed trading conditions on their site.

The phlippa.com active trading site was sold/purchased on Flippa.com Surely if there were any legal issues, Flippa.com would have closed the auction and issued a statement to the seller? What's your opinion?

I meant to say I own phlippa.com not .com.au

If you intend to use Phlippa.com as a marketplace for trading web sites, you will have legal problems.

If you use Phlippa.com for selling cookies, you won't have any problem.

Building a marketplace on a similar sounding domain to flippa, and then mentioning flippa in the same sentence would give you legal problems.

I agree with @exxe. Use the name for something else, and you'll have no forseeable problems.

Just list it back on Flippa for $600 and sell it. Flippa doesn't give a sh&t about trademarks being listed on their platform.

Why can't you come up with your brand instead of teasing around with "flip" names?
No one can really answer you as they may and may not take action depending on your intention what to do with the name.

Play with fire and eventually you will get burn!

Why not register FlippaDaddy.com instead and get sued both by Flippa and GoDaddy? :D

Using the term "flip" is ideal as it refers to the act of buying and selling web sites. Thus the term flipper is a person who flips sites. You shouldnt refer to branding here as "flip" or "flipper" is definately not a brand. Flippa is closer to a brand becuae they misspelled and have teased the real term which is flipper.

Do I hear "confusingly similar to a well-known brand" :)
