If someone buys something for this money, they know there's something going on.
I dont think its a speculator. If i had this domain i have kept it - this one is IMO far more worth than flowers.mobi - CPA every player $300.

The whole mobi thing is just a hype and there is a big chance that the extension will crash, or remain in the background for another 5-6 years. Not accepting a $33,000 offer would be too risky. And about the flowers.mobi thing....I believe that Mr. Schwartz just bought it as fuel to start the .mobi speculation fire. Fun.mobi sold for $100,000, same there.

not everything is a gamble, studying the facts will give you a hint if you should risk or not. I wouldn't in this case

it took the buyer 7 days to accept the offer... it was not immediately. Obviously, he gave it a lot of thought before he accepted...

or the buyer was waiting to see if the seller would reduce the price fearing to lose the sale.

Anyway great sale and I hope the sales gets thru and you get the money.

Hi Stij,
congrats on sale. I think it was a wise sale. Ideally, yes it could have got sent to auction, but there was no guarantee anyone else would have bid, but it was the scenario a seller would like most. An acceptable bid, then send to auction. Looks like the buyer was a reseller to me. The tactic he used is a tactic i have had to use now as a buyer.
Since the auction format started on sedo you risk losing a domain you have found & are willing to pay good money for.
It's worth accepting one bid higher than you would normally pay for to save the risk of being sent to auction.
Looks like they did this.
The glass is half full though. If you had sent it to auction on $25k, there is no guarantee another buyer would have got involved. They probably would but hey..
Anyway, i think you got a good price & so did the buyer.
You have to remember flowers was a crazy illogical price, it can't be compared to anything else. OUR sales count for more, having said that, an enduser was involved in flowers too, the com owner.
Anyway, you know my views as we discussed Gamble.
Congratulations! ;)
Now you are in a very nice position to bank the money & of your other .mobi sales. You can now develop your other mobi domains & wait for top dollar.
Have a great Christmas!
Pred ;)

However you slice it, it's a great sale. The only risk was on the buyers part - that said, I think this will prove to be a win-win deal - I would be happy to have been either the buyer or the seller...well done WEBecri!

Agree with Rico 100%
Gamble.mobi is much better than Flowers imo.
33K in cash is a big money for the majority of domainers here, but
don't forget that in Gambling industry such amount is nothing.
It's possible th earn that amount and even more as affiliate with such a name.

I agree with silverdom, in gambling 33k is not big money.
But for the seller its a good return on his investment and especially when the .mobi is still in its infant stage, this is a good price.
congratulations

I agree with that . However .mobi domains don't get any traffic at the moment. Noone knows how long it will take until that changes. It is possible a zero may be added to that sale in a year . It's also possible a zero may be taken off.
I would have acted the same way with the sale. It was difficult for webecri as he probably didn't want to counter too high in case he scared off the buyer, as there's every chance it may have only been a reseller, not the owner of 888 , for example. LOL
He was just unlucky not to get his chance to send to auction.
A great sale.
The best sales are when the seller gets a great profit & the buyer gets a chance to monetise or make money later. That's what's happened here i believe.
cheers,
Pred

WEBecri you seem to be steaming away with all the sales your making are you actively marketing them or are you just being contacted by the buyer? If you are marketing the domains you'll have to share your secret!!! ;^)

Pred did you enjoy your weekend in Blackpool???

It is one of those rear .mobi that really makes sense IMO.
Casino and poker on mobile device will be really super hot.
I beleive as well it is worth more than flowers.com

Forgot about it didn't you submitted it to moniker live auction?
