Could you have sold it for $50K? $100K? $200K? Probably so. However timing is everything in investing and .mobi is still up in the air in terms of its ultimate credibility in the marketplace and the gaming sector is under immense legislative attention. So as much as it could have sold for way more, it could have also sold for way less in the future.

I've found you're much better off to take a nice pop when the opportunity arises and don't waste your time second guessing your decision to sell.

Gamble.mobi is much better than Flowers imo.
33K in cash is a big money for the majority of domainers here, but
don't forget that in Gambling industry such amount is nothing.
It's possible th earn that amount and even more as affiliate with such a name.

Gamble.mobi is way better than Flowers.mobi. But don't forget that flowers.mobi was overpriced and most
likely, as I like to think, deliberately overpriced. If I bought your toyota for $200,000, would that make the neighbour's ferrari worth $2M?

.mobi is a promising new tld, but who knows if it will be successful or not? Maybe it will, and in that case, gamble.mobi could sell for six figures, but if it crashes as an extension then gamble.mobi would hardly sell for low $xxxx. The sales you see now are all speculative and the buyers are, de facto, gambling. There is no traffic and no indication that would point us out the future of this new tld. So based on today's facts, $33,000 is a great price to sell your domain for. Congratulations on your sale mate, I wish you all the best with your future sales.

The main point I beleive in the value of .mobi is not that its for cellphone since we did not need it in the past and we wont need it in the future, but what value will search engine give to .mobi when user search online:
if .mobi will rank higher because they are specific for the device than yes .mobi will have value but if there is not going to be a push from google msn an yahoo forget about .mobi they will be dead very soon.
We need to see in the next 2 3 yrs what kind of devices will come out.

I have to disagree - the mobile web did need .mobi in the past. There is a lack of standardization of the location where users can go to find mobile sites on their phone.

...and many more variations. This lack of standardization is a huge roadblock for the mobile web. When an advertiser is branding their site, will users remember wap.domain.com or was it www.domain.com/wap - and the millions of other variations? Not likely.

www.domain.mobi can be branded and advertised. Its standardized, and memorable.

If mobile web had standardized as wap.domain.com or any of the other variations .mobi would be unecessary, and the mobile web would probably be more in demand than it is.

I think you didn't read what I said, don't get me wrong...the sale was legit alright, but IMO, overpaid to induce speculation in the new TLD market. I never claimed that it wasn't legit. Rick did take $200,000 out of his pocket, i wouldn't doubt that.

If you ask me, any domain extension, within a considerable time frame, only gets BETTER than currently now because we are all stuck in the dotcom only world psyche of the mainstream masses. That, of course, is changing in our current times we are witnessing. I fathom dot mobi, more than any other extension, will lead the way globally to changing this cultural awareness mentality of "more than dot com" in the internet.
