Sure, the letters "SS" can have hundreds of meanings and uses; but the alleged buyer is displaying specific use of it.

exactly.
i mean i never had any problem with the domain before tbh. it didnt jump that out to me

i wonder how much silver spoon is worth, the sugar company. must be tens of millions , prob. hundreds
loads of uses, but the point being, as Acro says, its in the wrong hands, and i have no doubt those plans are illegal.
having said that, i am not gonna give them traffic but i know the kkk use the com site as someone pointed out.
i'm sure they're not singing kum bay ya

While the transaction hasn't been completed yet, a definite agreement had been reached. The domain is indeed off the market and awaiting payment. However, we are currently considering and analyzing our options based on this surprising turn of events, and I'll be glad to comment further at the appropriate time.

so Geaney is the buyer for sure?

But how would you know who the potential buyer is? I mean, you can inquire all day about his intentions with the name, but he can easily misrepresent himself until after payment is made.

true dat. this is different though. this site could become a beacon for racists and thas evident before a sale has been achieved.
think what has happened in past before internet. this is just the sort of thing which could send a big ripple out

Lol, what question? If I'd do it?...then the answer is no, not at this time in my life.

The question gingeman asked was "Has anyone ever offered you $1.25 million?".

It's easy to say you wouldn't take the money when you've never been offered that kind of money for anything and likely never will.

Hold up! I thought I read a member here: FEARLESS, is the owner of Smartsearch.com, AND another member THE LEGENARY JP called him out on this claim? What gives? Am I understanding this correctly?

This geaney guys is a piece of work. If he doesn't even own the name yet, why would he be entertaining offers in excess of his reported purchase price. If I were on the troll for this name, my offer would be to member TM3500, the current legitimate owner, not a guy that by his own "press release" says he hasn't even signed the contract. All of this smells to bullshit to me.

It is called controversy.

Controversy is the most effective free publicity there is.

Imagine all the time, blogs, articles and such spent on him.

He has succeeded. He created himself as a monster and now has a following.

Each moment discussing him and those letters gets indexed and increases ranking and ratings.

Money well spent on a few press releases, bogus or not. Look how many days later this is still being discussed.

Only money spent is for hosting that crappy site. Sending emails to a few people (including the creator of this thread) with a link to said crappy site was free.

Yeah, but that's not what Socal was talking about either. He said, and I am paraphrasing here, that the domain could never be used by anyone for any reason because it was "toxic waste". I was simply calling bullshit on that.
I am sitting here trying to think, from a historical perspective, if there are other words or letters like this that have changed from the evil or condemned form into something more acceptable.

From a historical perspective, I can not think of any. I would like to think that being that Nazi Germany is now 2-3 generations removed that it would be less of an issue.

On the other hand, there are still far many survivors of World War II still alive.

Again, from a historical perspective I can not think of words, symbols, or letters that have gone the route of a miraculous transformation from a negative connotation to a positive.

Would like to hear any suggestions or examples from anyone.

And look at the mileage he's getting.

He appears to be working as "Cane inspector" on a small sugar plant....

http://www.isissugar.com.au/ShowContacts.asp

I don't think there are so many with that name in Queensland, especially since the name isn't common anywhere, when searching the web.

How can he afford $1.25 million at 23?

Maybe his family traded with the nazis.

I am more inclined to think this deal is a dud.

Volkswagen was a huge wartime manufacturer for Nazi Germany, roughly translated that means allied soldiers died because of it, even possibly some of our own relatives. I find that in general, people as a whole are very forgiving when it's convenient. The Volkswagen brand could or should be equally as appalling as the "SS" concept, the only difference of course being that you can't a ride shiny new air conditioned Nazi soldier to work.

Tell me what's worse, "SS", or "Washington Redskins", or how about the "Cleveland Indians"? Not all the Indians were massacred of course, there are still some left to be insulted by this, but obviously again the all knowing "majority consensus" determined that those quite sickening terms are sanitized enough to be associated with entertainment, especially when the only negative by-product is a "non white" Indian drinking himself to death, on some God forsaken radioactive piece of wasteland, called a United States Indian reservation.

I also agree with the other statements, we're all giving this Nazi freak exactly what he wants.

Pretty sure his family never had any association with the real nazis, if they did he probably wouldn't think it's so cool to pretend he is one.

You've got a pretty narrow minded point of view there socalboy.

There's a lot of different things that could be done with this name that don't involve promoting hatred or glorifying Nazi doctrine.

Uh, no, racism isn't illegal. Where did you get that idea?

Seroiusly?? if I walked down the street saw a cop called him and slang term hate called him a fu__ing "insert whatever" I would most likely get locked up. Here in NY at least.
