I'm really getting tired of receiving "offers" for my domains from "real" buyers that pose just one condition: have it manually valuated. Of course, they recommend authorizedappraisal.com at some moment.

They also have some "real" forum posts about them. You will see that only the names differ. The posts are exactly the same.

Whatever you do, make sure you do not get your domains valuated at authorizedappraisal.com

these have been around for a long time and are extremely frustrating (and annoying). Most paid appraisal services aren't honest - you pay them to tell you how much your domain is worth. They want repeat business so they're more likely to give you an inflated value.

Then you also have "free" ones which just use algorithms to determine the value, which usually is not accurate either.

Plus, exact values hold little to no merit - a true appraisal will give you a range.

If you own the domain and are wondering about the value, probably your best bet is to get it evaluated by people who buy and sell domains on a day to day bases, which we offer on this forum:

Thanks for the advice! I too have been getting manual appraisal e-mails.

These appraisal scams are easily identified. When I get one, I always reply back with an asking price of $5. I NEVER hear back from them ;)
