I would love that microsoft could really read this forum, at least they would feel our pain towards the various yahoo or google feed ppc programs and start their own instead than fighting us with their stupid typo software.
If its microsoft the smartest move would be to join our forces defeating the new G..evil and get some of our USD . Come on, come on join the dark side and get a slice of the pie....

That would be beneficial, but it wouldn't happen through the legal dept...

I can confirm that Microsoft Legal is Aaron E. Kornblum.

I requested that Mr. Kornblum contact me through email at my government email address. I have received a reply from him.

Everyone can stop questioning him, because he does work for the Microsoft Legal Department.

I also must add:

"Microsoft has witnessed a virtual land rush for Internet domain names with the goal of driving traffic for profit," said Aaron Kornblum, the company's Internet Safety Enforcement attorney. The company noticed the surge in sites earlier this year as part of its efforts to monitor so-called phishing sites, which mimic bank and other sites as part of identity-theft schemes.

In response, Microsoft filed two civil lawsuits Monday against four defendants it said are profiting from domain names that infringe on Microsoft trademarks. One filed in U.S. District Court in Utah alleges that Jason Cox of Albuquerque, N.M., Daniel Goggins of Provo, Utah, and John Jonas, of Springville, Utah, together registered 324 domain names targeting Microsoft. The defendants do business as Jonas and Goggins Studios LLC and Newtonarch LLC.

Well...if that´s true as it seems. Many people here should be worried.

Glad I don't own any Microsoft TM's...

Although, as always was pointed out before, I'm sure Microsoft (and probably Google) already knew about this forum before, so they were probably monitering sales and posts for a long time.

ItalianDragon: better take that link to hundreds of "Zune" domains for sale out of your sig. :-)

Look guys. Aaron seems like a great guy. I had an email/PM conversation with him for about 20 mins tonight. He's planning on posting more once he's verified.

Interesting...:drama:

Now the dilema, if he isnt here to help the domain community to succeed but rather to search out lawsuits I have to call for a ban. This is Adam's forum so it is his decision. Either way it doesnt hit home for me as I do not own any microsoft names or typo's at all. I don't want to sound like I defend anyone who does on the other hand, it's more the principal of things. :croc:

It's not a dilemma at all really. I run a business, register trademarks and protect the intellectual property of my own company particularly against domain holders. These forums and others have provided me with a deep knowledge of how to connect the dots to track down domain registrants, persuade domain registrars to take action, have hosting companies shut down accounts and more.

Removing those who only hurt legitimate business operators in the domain industry would be a better suggestion.
