I don't need fast cash and I don't like ads that speak to me.

Hi.

It would be nice if the digipawn ad could be silenced. I don't want to be asked constantly if I need fast cash. It's really, really bad when you have your speakers turned up because you are listening to internet radio.

You assume that a forum like this would really understand how annoying these ads are. What's next? The flash ads that fill up for your screen and you have to spend 20 seconds playing find the little obscure X button?

THIRD time I've heard the stupid thing!

lol.. but hey its a great service.. and there affiliate program rocks...

I can't stand hearing that thing one more time! It must have been about 25 times so far today!!

I'll donate some F$ to pay the advertiser just to remove the banner!

I think it's like $4,000 a month.. lol that would be a lot of F$ :-)

They have a good service, but I really have to say that I have been annoyed by the sound on it too, especially with no way to turn it off..

At least it doesn't play "onload" lol :cheeky:

5th time, with no rollover.

I don;t care if they offered a great service I would never do business with a crap firm like that who would annoy and insult my intelligence like this all day. Also surprised dcg would go along with this BS.

Must have heard that nonsense recording at least 50 times today. It even seems to be slowing down dnf what with possible high bandwidth needed to play that so much to all of us as dnf is very s-l-o-w today.

I could say even more but I will restrain myself for now. This is the absolute most annoying thing I have even seen on the internet. Makes spam and popup boxes seem harmless by comparison.

Definately need to remove the audio, it is quite annoying.

Aghh. It's gone off like 20 times now! Would it not be more effective to just show the text when not rolling over so we actually have a clue what its about and getting rid of the audio so not to drive all the business away?

Arggggghhhh!

I can confirm that it plays even when you DON'T mouse over it.

It would be great if DNForum had a "no sound" ad policy.

I'm going to pm impactadmin now.

Man I heard it again now by accident.. I have been hearing it all day.

That's worse than a popup... Popup's at least you can close...

Ads with sound are the worst I have seen yet. When AIM started putting movie ads with sound into AIM that got a lot of people annoyed.. Now I am seeing them everywhere. :(

My vote is AT LEAST make this company make the ad cookie based so it only plays the sound once.. but I would prefer never hearing it again...

*grumble*

@&$*#!! Right after making my last post it played again.. and I didn't even see it in my window! :(

Yup, I can confirm that it goes off without mouse over. My 4 year old daughter is now bugging me to show her what I was watching lol...

The sounds goes off randomly for me...like when I'm switching windows from MSN Messenger to Dnforum.

Hate the ad, now I hate the company. Anyone got any info for me so I can start a sucks.com site?

Question: Why can't there be a ticker so when it asks DO WE NEED FAST CASH we can click YES or NO, and the ignorant thing will IP ban us from viewing the ad again

kthxbi

Let me join the crowd - that is one ugly banner - and to top it off, the audio is an unwanted invasion :-D

Well I just take my headphones off when im here but it is annoying.

Put the damn ad at the bottom of the page.

lol -- great idea! :cheeky:

but seriously.. it is beyond annoying -- please do get rid of it asap!

I turned off images in Netscape for this site and that damn ad stays. Adam chooses this ad over members. Wake up Adam.

He said that he had contacted impactadmin. So I'm sure it will be fixed soon.

The ad is really sleazy, and extremely annoying, but it's probably getting some click thru's. You have to wonder what kind of person would click on such an ad. My solution to sound banners is to turn them off by getting out of the site as quickly as possible.
