More extensions = .com worth more.

Hmm, not necessarily so. Lets say someone approaches you to buy a .com .You say $2000. He thinks well ok so I can go and get same name with a different tld for say $20.

Other situation I guess is when he gets his name.xyz and starts advertising it,assuming he does so, then you might get more traffic when people type in .com by mistake. If he does not advertise it then simply you have lost a sale of .com.
Cannot see how more tld's will increase price ?. Confusion maybe, price no, unless you can tell me what im missing ?.

I look at it this way.
When was the last time you typed in a domain to your browser other than .com, companies have spent millions building thier brands and they were all built around the .com. The search engines would need restructuring would they want to kill thier main advertisers. Would they restructure there business models to gain respect from people that develop thier own tld? I highly doubt it, as in anything money can be spent on branding but will you the consumer remember the other tld. All my 6yr old knows is .com it has been brain washed into our children this is something they will always remember and it will grow with them also. the .com will never lose value.
just my 2 cents
now go buy your .coms the forum is filled with them
This marks the end of the domaining industry!
Here today gone tomorrow .spam
