you're too funny and uninformed.

because you don't have any answers

Try one thing: search for Business Week's top 100 brands list. See which ones actually have websites on .mobi. It might be an eye opener

I have provided answers non stop for months, solutions, marketing trends, analysis, examples, emerging markets and functionality on this extension and others.

I have done research on all facets of this and have posted on sites, blogs, and contributed to research and books on the validity of .mobi and other domains.

I have turned down several opportunities to be guests on live programs and talk shows. Those that have invited me can disclose it here rather than myself. I have also been asked to be guest blogger on notable blogs for months now

As for providing proof of this, I do not have to provide anything to anyone on this forum. If those that have graciously asked for my participation are members here and want to reveal themselves, then that is their option.

I have electively not chosen to be part of this measure either or personal reasons, work conflicts, family illness and taking care of my mother, and some of these host asking me to change my views on something or to agree with them occasionally. Bottom line, I am committed to every thing I do and do not waver or change my opinion simply to boost someone else's status and standing.

That ain't me.

So do your own research, do your own studies, it is futile to challenge me when you can't even provide anything but hypothetical situations and opinions. You are clearly taking pieces from other threads put forth by other posters and bringing them into various threads as it they were your own though provoking statements.

It is okay to ask questions. But this is nauseating to attempt to answer the same questions over and over and over and try to make sense out of the nonsense you are posting.

If you feel that I have not provided answers or proof, then call me a failure and move on to seek those answers and proof you so desperately seek.

It obviously in your eyes will not be here and with me.

So why even bother challenge me

As for try one thing, you try one thing.

Use a phone to visit a site, any site.

And to use your own example, try visiting BusinessWeek.mobi

The

Present :)

ever wondered why there are just 5 posts in the .tv subforum, and 616 in the .mobi?

yes, because .mobi has a lot of interest.

did you ever think different people are interested in different aspects of domaining.

you really look like a fool with all these rehashed arguments.

oh, and merry Christmas. :)

Doc, no one's "challenging" you here.

Stats, analysis, etc. don't mean much really, if you don't see the brands that really matter building up actual websites. I'm sure you'll agree with that.

Doc, the thing is, you and many of the .mobi supporters see the extension and mobile internet from a western or developed world perspective. I see it from a developing, or what you can call "third world" perspective. Where I come from, mobile internet is about 5 years away. I've lived all but one year of my life in India - a country that many here would like to believe is a "huge" market.

But this is far from the reality. What many Indians consider "mobile internet" is just a free service provided by the phone company that allows you to download ringtones etc., not the open-browser-type-in-web-address thing we have here in the US or Europe. I can give you more details about the kind of mobile service we have in India, but that would take an entirely new post.

Doc, the problem I (and most others) have with .mobi is not the extension itself but the huge hype surrounding it. I know for one thing that the 1.1 billion strong Indian market is about 5 years away from getting anywhere close to that mobile internet hype, and I believe China wouldn't be too different either since we're so similar in much of our developmental processes.

So for me, so much hype for something thats going to take 5 years to take root in a country representing 1/6th of the world's population is unwarranted.

sashas, start your own research as a compare/constrast component.

Fearless, I welcome your PM if you want to negotiate a sale of iphones.mobi

you really look like a fool with all these rehashed arguments.

Dude, why do you wanna get personal?

What might be rehashed arguments still have no answers. Can you tell me why so many companies have NOT built up any websites on their names?
Don't give me bullshit arguments that really lead nowhere, about the research, analysis bullcrap, but just a simple reason why someone like Microsoft (one of the backers, I think) hasn't come up with a simple page in the one year its had Microsoft.mobi

One solid reason. I ask you. Not some dumbass wisecrack or meandering logic.

Again, give me a good, solid reason. Not some dumbass wisecrack or meandering logic.

you are thinking too much.

there is no reason. nothing. no logic. notta.

it is all speculation for the future and a gut feeling to me.

I haven't communicated with anyone from the "anti-mobi gang" so that wisecrack didn't hit the spot

So again I'll ask someone. Why do you think Microsoft hasn't come up with a page on Microsoft.mobi in ONE year when it thought .mobi good enough to back it?

And like I said, don't give me rhetoric or wisecracks.

Dude, you're undermining all of Doc's arguments about research and analysis here.

And I don't see what points I'm missing. As you yourself mentioned, you're investing in .mobi based on gut instinct. Fair enough. I've got lots of .in/.co.in names bought purely on gut instinct.

But we're all talking pragmatically here, not basing our decisions based on instincts. While instincts work well on an individual basis, a market cannot be based on that.

who is "we" ?

i dont even know where to begin to tell you how you are missing the point.

lets pretend the answer is: microsoft doesnt have a .mobi site because they changed their mind and think the TLD sucks.

what does that mean then?

I have just completed my second order on amazon.mobi.

First was a book.

This was a coffee pot.

Why?

Because it was fun, convenient, fast, easy to use, it was available and it worked flawlessly on the Helio Ocean.

Amazon, what will they come out with next?

The aPhone?

.mobi sucks big time!

stick to .coms, they are the future of the mobile internet!
