Got this email today from [email protected], domain is a typo with 50 hits per day...
Is this just scam or ?

Hello!

I'm a broker of an investor from Montreal (Canada). He wants to buy xxxxxxxxx.com.

My client has $496,000 budget for 40-45 domains. Please specify your asking price in the subject of your message.

Our company is in a web hosting business. We also provide brokerage services for domain buyers.

If you have other domains please email me the list with prices. I may offer your domains for sale to my clients.

How can we transfer money to you (escrow, wire, Paypal or Western Union)?

I can also help you with the transfer process.

Best Regards,

Mark Herman

Yeah man, that should have answered your questions.

The domain name itself should have answered your questions...

Absolute scam, I get those every day.

Here is a tip:

Have a contact eMail address up on your domains landing page, and only present that eMail address in an image (jpg/png/gif).

That way people can't scrape your email address, and when you receive an inquiry, you will know it is from a serious buyer.

Good luck.

<appraisal scam>
Step 1) Send you an email offering to buy your domains at top dollar
Step 2) You agree
Step 3) They tell you that they need appraisals on them and send you to a "trusted appraisal firm"
Step 4) You pay for appraisals
Step 5) Either you never hear back or they say the appraisals came back too low.
</appraisal scam>
