I bought the name because of the flash I can use with it to make it viral, then perhaps send its traffic to an appropriate affiliate site. Appropriate for the kind of traffic it generates I mean.

It is http://www.wldo.com

Go see the flash... then please tell me if the name has any value for a buyer if I don't develop it myself.

Cheers,
ezinestein

PS - Plus I thought four letters had value too.

Did anyone get to see the flash... or did it take too long to load? And if you did see it, do you think it helps or hurts the value of the name?

Cheers,

If you're advertising your site as containing viruses, are you really surprised that no-one's responding?

I assume that your use of the word "viral" is a misspelling of something.

I think ezinestein means it in terms of "viral marketing" - ie people look at the flash movie, have a laugh, then tell their friends to see it - so doing all the promoting of the site themselves. Nothing to do with (bad) viruses.

BTW ezinestein - I checked it out - it took ...ages... to load over 56k modem - somewhere between 10 and 30 minutes - can't remember exactly.

Made me laugh, but I wouldn't "viral market" it to my friends as most of them wouldn't bother waiting for it to load.

If that is what you're trying to do with it, I'd make it a lot shorter - if someone's going to be amused by it, they'll get the joke after a few seconds - it doesn't need to be that long / big a download.

I'd also add a "tell-a-friend" email form / link, just to make it as easy as possible to spread it.

Cheers for the laugh,

Sam

Viral simply means that it will get passed around by people because it’s funny.

For example, when you get an email telling a hilarious joke or with a ridiculous picture or something... the first thing you do is forward it to your friends... and then they do the same. That’s called “VIRAL” in the Internet Marketing arena.

A VIRAL site can be extremely valuable if you’ve set up some sort of profit model behind it. You have a site that people like, find funny or cute, so they send their friends to it... and so on... and so on.

Perhaps you put a link on the site leading to another site to which you are an affiliate. In the case of wldo.com... it seems like mostly guys might find the flash funny, so perhaps linking to a dating site or a porn membership site might do well. Maybe even a casino link. Get the idea?

I certainly hope you are the only member of this forum who actually thought another member would be posting a site address containing a VIRUS.

If anyone else thought this... please let me know... and PLEASE accept my apology!!

Kindly,
Ezinestein

Thanks for the comments Sam.

Actually I just wanted to know if the domain name wldo.com was worth anything. The reason I included the flash was to illustrate one possible idea behind the name.

Sorry it takes so long to download... sometimes I forget what 56K was like. :)

Again, thanks.

Cheers,

Sorry! :D Never heard of that term before! I work in design, not marketing... :)
