Just out of interest, when did the forum start up?

Wow  .. you are here since May 2002!!

Oficially, DNForum has been online since 2001.

One of the oldest accounts I have found is registered at: Mar 16, 2002

Nobody really knows the birthday. 1st scr at archive.org is March 24, 2002:

I tracked down the Founder of DNForum, Dan Gessler, through old sales articles and then eventually through LinkedIn/email, and I believe a call, as we were going to do a 20th Anniversary article/video featuring him for DNForum because the timing of it just so happened to align with the "relaunch" period of new ownership. This is because I believed that he was an integral part of DNF's success, as without him starting it, we wouldn't be here today. Of course, this never came to fruition because a lot was going on in the background where this was a priority of lesser importance.

Even though this was the first color scheme, he changed it to the stock vBulletin blue and then stuck with an eyesore yellow a little later in DNF's life. During my free time leading up to the event that was being planned, I attempted to revive the look without the "websafe" color limitations imposed during that golden era (HTML4/X11) as I was also heavily into Xenforo modifications and doing so helped me learn more about the platform. However, I didn't get to refine it much to have a good balance and to also have certain elements of the forum stand out. I probably should've used a designer, but in retrospect, it would have been a waste of resources.

In one of our exchanges, I asked him why he chose such colors, and he had a good enough reason:

Good luck, cause even Dan couldn't even recall!
