so what's happening with extended auctions?.
As it ends on Jan 31 most buyers will not bid till Jan 31 12:10PDT so nobody can steal their research. I do not understand why there is a week between live and silent as standard 3 days would be sufficient and logical...

No, it will be sold as normal Snapnames auciton with endtime Jan 31 2008 12:15PDT.

If you go here now https://www.snapnames.com/bulkAddShow.do
and request all names there, it will return you min. bids. And when you order the names with price (domain.com:1234) it will get you into the auction right away. You can do it test it i.e. with some of those $1 domains like
Submit
ipodcatalog.com
wiicoupons.com
wiihq.com

It wil return
Bid amount required, suggested minimum bid below:
ipodcatalog.com:1
wiicoupons.com:1
wiihq.com:1

Now submit one of these domains (you risk just one buck) and check "my auctions" - you will see an auction with the name and $1 bid and enddate like "5d 7h 33m". Now next one who will want to enter the auction has bid more thn you, in this case $2 (for higher amounts the next bid is higher, i.e. over $1K is $50 etc.).

Here I posted list of domains which has already at least one bid on it:
http://www.dnforum.com/f489/domains-bids-silent-auction-domainfest-thread-273881.html

Why TF am I doing what Snapnames should do ?

Thanks for the info man...

Wow, seeing some nice bids for being this early in the auction. I would imagine that most people are going to wait till the end to bid, as to not expose the domain name that is appealing to you.

DesignBuildings.com has a bid on it, but so it should at $250. I don't believe there is any way to see who's bid on what unless you know the starting prices and can be bothered to look at them one at a time.

Denny just told you how to look up what each domain name is at. You wont be able to see how many bids each one has regardless. If you bid on one, and you are outbid, you will be emailed, and it will let you know you have been outbid and what price you were outbid at. If you have a few names in the auction, or you are intersted in any of them, just paste or type them into the box, without numbers and it will give you the highest bid. If the highest bid is still at the reserve, it means there has been no bids yet.

Another way to do this is to download all current auctions at snapnames. It will place it into a .txt file for you. You can then use the "find" function to locate names you are interested in, or those you have in auction.

I wouldnt suggest placing the names into your cart, unless you know exactally how this auction is set up. Placing the names in your cart, and then pressing checkout will imediately place a bid for you.

Dont expect too much activity untill the near end of the auction... as most people arnt willing to share the domain names they desire untill literally the last few minutes of the auction.

I think the list with domains having bid on it will be avilable since tomorrow here:
https://www.snapnames.com/download.jsp
As "Domain names in auction scheduled to end Jan 31"
But not sure, will see tomorrow

But as Ashaw said - most bidders will bid at last moment. At least I will.

still a shame they put the reserves on everything.
Thanks god THEY DO ! Because with knowing reserves I can sort by reserve and save a lot of time. If everyone would have to go through 2K domains without knowing what the reserve is ($100 or $100K) - it would be gigantic waste of time. Example in Internext silent: cashcows.com - domain worth $xxx but it had reserve $1,176,480, so without knowing this crazy reserve maybe tens of people would be bidding bellow $1K = waste of time.
