i see your point. but which is best? to have the names back cheap or pay $$$$$ to get them back or maybe not get them back at all!

I was talking to the seller yesterday. apparently he is pending sale for export.net!

well i feel sorry for the buyer. Can i say to people please stay away from chatting to this seller. He is rather smart. Tried to hack into my site, get my ip etc via yahoo messenger. If you are going to talk with him Enable your Firewall.

here is all the info you may need about this guy:
http://www.geocities.com/rokh/

He is not an arab. He is from Iran. He is talking to people via iranian internet cafee. I traced his full ip.

Just to ask you a question bashar, what do you think would happen if he was to Delete the names? and they become availible again? a whole new dimension :)

Jeesh - A lot going on here. My original post was merely an observation. I purchased onlinemall.us a short while ago and was curious what was being done with mall.com. I now know why the site doesn't match the name. I hope that the original (rightful) owner is eventually reunited with the name.

onlinemall.us :) nice name.

Just to let people know. He (the hacker of mall.com) openly admited to me he has already earned $3000 from the sales of his domains!

It's going to be touch and go and a lot of hassle before the real true owner
gets mall.com back. But keep at it, anyway.

It's already reported in the other forums, btw.

It amazes me how simple it is to steal a 6 figure domain...
But I also know that with my fovorite registrar it simply can`t happen.

BTW people, the person he stole the domain from was also quite possibly a thief. So relax, ok? Dont bother recovering this domain, its not worth your time.

WHere mall.com and stuff.com owned by the same person at first? Was it so? I remember years ago I checked stuff.com and also mall.com, but I can also be wrong.
Stuff.com is now for sale in domainsystems.

no it wasnt my intention to state or imply Ataxx was a thief, what i meant was this domain has a very suspicious history. it was owned by some people deeply involved in fraud, and after their scam operation fell apart, they ran off with the cash and one day the domain changed owners to someone who appeared to me to be a thief. so one of the following happened:

1) it was stolen by a thief, and then afterwards purchased unwittingly by this ataxx fellow
2) perhaps ataxx purchased it legally, but it just seemed like it was stolen to those of us that were watching it.

All I want to know is how this happened, through keylogger hacking or the negligence of Godaddy, or the negligence of the owner, or collusion between the revenge of the sith.

dntalk, the originall Mall.com owners were wanted by the Feds for all their fraud, they took the money and ran to Venezuela (or some other location far away from prosecution and extradition). If the domain was stolen at that point in time, they wouldnt have been in a position to complain about it very loudly.

Well, Ravindra Patel is now the proud owner of this domain.

whois.sc shows 97 records since 2001, and nothing indicates that ataxx was the last owner of name, unless he prefers to be known as Klarevas and a yahoo email.

At times like this, it feels good to own crap domains that nobody will think of stealing LOL

i seem to be getting more and more intrested in this domain. i must say this person who took them from ataxx is rather chosy on the names he hijacks :)

I personally would be in doubt attax will get the names back unless he gets his lawyer! Doubt godaddy will do much!

Folks hopefully by monday if all goes well and we get back our properties, I'll tell you all the whole story of the original company MALL.COM who defrauded people out of millions of dollars in advertising sales and how we were in the right place at the right time to buy the name from one of its investors. Anyway, it seems now the scamster decided to go low key by placing the name in Domains By Proxy with GD.
