ok, I will find them, then I will bring them to you for 250K and I will be happy for you to make 2.5 millions :)

I think he was only referring to natural type-ins rather than engineered traffic.

Thanks. But frankly we don't really need it. It does, however, get annoying when people pull out the same tired factious, tired and totally incorrect arguments and ascertions time and time again, without doing any research and without good background knowledge. You would think they would search some of the old threads once in while. IDN is all but a reality. It only requires IE 7.0 to be released and they will start to work. Then they will start to be used. Trying to force the whole of the World to use ASCII was only justifiable because the technology was not in place to do anything else. They will soon become so natural the terminology IDN will fast disappear. You will simply talk about Chinese, Russian or Arabic Domains or if you are being pedantic you will add the word script. In three year time if you talk about IDN, nobody will know what you are talking about, but a hell of lot of people will use them just as surely as they breath Oxygen.

I don't know if that is aimed at my purchase. If it is you should realise the domain will earn it's money back in 3 to 5 years AND I will still have the domain ;) I find it surprising that people can't understand why a domain for a tourist country that receives 2000 uniques per day would be worth the price paid for it. I would have paid more.

LOL, no mate, Malta is an excellent name. No way was it aimed at your name and my statement was a compliment of sorts to all. I could easlily justify the expense for purchasing a domain like Malta.com, congrats. I referring to the many other names that are bought at Sedo and Afternic and the fact that they are silly to me means nothing in the big picture. That's a good thing, it means end users are buying domains and most likely developing websites. I want to see what they do with them. Cheers

That's right. I was referring to unique typeins. If you have a domain that gets 20,000 unique typeins per day then looking even on the worst way of a 10% CTR at 0.15 cents per click you're going to make $300 per day (approx $110,000 per year). Now given that click rates and price per click are higher I think you can see how quickly you would make your $250k on a domain with that amount of typeins. Taking malta.com (which isn't going to be parked anyway) each of those visitors is worth way more than 0.15 cents to me so a tenth of that traffic is just fine for me.

The same applies when comparing IDNs to .COMs.

IDN's ARE .com's

No only are they dot coms, but they are also apparently meaningless alphanumeric sequences, just like most of the ASCII dot coms you you come across on appraisal threads.

Malta.com at $250K is a steal and excellent investment. Congrats RobM.

We have several decent international city/state domains (.net, .org and more) and are definitely holding them for the right buyer(s).

Yes, Malta.com is a great domain and
should be bringing in a whole heap of
'type in' hits.
