I have an open buying transaction in a sales thread that was closed. What if I need to communicate to the seller or otherwise in the thread during my transaction? Now I can't. I wish the mods here would think before acting in closing threads simply because of all the piddly rules around here.

until the rules are changed then we proceed accordingly

your previous thread accusing mods of getting $100 for each thread they closed is as ridiculous as you trying to align with focus on this issue.

i don't think you should ride this wagon

Come on. You know that it is a kind of sense of humor. If Adam has to pay $100 per thread, he would have to sell this forum as thousands of threads are moved on daily basis. (note it is also exagerrated, don't take it so seriously)

Fed up with those so serious MODs who like to move, close the threads all the time.

I will repeat here again about the threads from "general domain discussion" moved around so many times. The forum was created for relaxing discussion about domains and not to be so strict the rules or about what you think. I would argue if a thread is created for dicussion on domain matters, it should stay there regardless of it is something to do with .co.uk or .asia or .dnforum or so on. Lately I even don't want to visit "general domain discussion" where I see many closed threads with moved threads and kind of weird feeling. It is really counterproductive to the forum.

I generally think the mods do a decent job around here...sometimes a little over zealous...but pretty good.

A point that Focus brings up that really needs attention is when your post or initial thread is deleted or closed with no explanation. I posted an appraisal in an appraisal thread and the OP attacked my appraisal and I responded and out of nowhere a mod deleted all involvement I had in the thread including my appraisal (with no explanation)....it really rubbed me wrong - but I moved on - I am really not a complainer.

I actually would suggest to forum Admins that at this point this thread can be a great venting/suggestion thread and that an itemized mod response is not needed (unless the rules are broken I guess :) )

I second this.

didn't think it was funny at all

james if you don't want to go to that section, then don't go there

you didn't have a problem going there everyday, all day long when you were creating as many as 3 or more threads a day in that section.

now you're complaining! geez

threads may be moved to populate other areas and invigorate those sections.
threads may be moved or closed if they are posted in the wrong section.

unless you have read the content of each thread that gets moved or closed, then you really don't know what you're talking about.

seems you should be concentrating more on your business of selling domains than trying to follow what mods do.

but tell me why should we have cctld discussion subforums for:
.in
.eu
.tel
.co.uk
.us
.fr
.nl
etc

but mods should not move threads there when they more specific to that area?

or why should we have all these different sections, if all the threads should be ok to get posted in general discussion forum.

then why do we need appraisal section
or the gold cafe
or the platinum lounge

or the Registrar discussion area

or the ppc discussion area

content development
adsense
scripts
webdesign

etc etc

if the subject of a thread is General in nature and about domains, in that it does not talk about your specific domains "James" then it's ok, but if you want to get appraisal value then post in appraisal section.

Yeah...I have zero problem with a thread being moved to a more appropriate forum...just not closed or deleted with no explanation.

I understand you move some threads to appraisal section etc... Those are not intended for domain discussion.

This is "general domain discussion" and therefore if a member like to post there about .asia etc..., it should be okay. Or he or she may choose to post in specific ".asia" forum, it should be okay too. If a thread is for "domain discussion" , it should be open to the member where to post it either in specific forum or "general discussion forum".

I now realized you were closely watching my threads whethere in good or bad , I don't really know.

I really don't like you to attack memeber personally while we were talking generally about the Mods. We didn't attack you personally but you are attacking members personally. It is just ..........

you attacked mods first with your thread

then you jump on bandwagon here and complain about moderator actions.

it ain't but 3 moderators and i'm a mod so why shouldn't i feel like it was directed at me...

since you didn't exclude me

c'mon be real, you can't have it both ways

am i not supposed to defend our actions, which are based on your posting habits?

What do you look at when you log onto DNF?

Me?

I look at the new threads/posts.

Here is what I do not look at-

I do not look at the 62 forum categories on here.

I do not look at the 218 sub-forum categories.

Honestly, isn't that a little too much?

Is it any wonder that something is posted in the wrong section?

62 forum Headings (categories)
218 sub-forums

1 chance to get something right
280 changes to get something wrong

I say we eliminate more than half of these categories.

Who on earth looks at all of them anyways?

I think a streamlined more cohesive DNF would be a better option and prehaps make the mods task easier.

Not to mention less confusion with what goes where.

With the rules to post domain in title, if I am not into it I don't view it.

As with any forum or online community, there are rules that all members must follow.
We (mods and admin) just do our job according to the rules. We have no friends and we don't hate or like anyone.

With the limited staff that we have, it is impossible or practical to take a look at every single thread and please everyone.

You can complain about our actions (mods) if we did not do our jobs but nothing we can do if you complain about the rules. You can make a suggestion and it is up to the management to make the changes.

Thank you,
John

Really think a good trimming down of the categories/sub-categories would be healthy.

Otherwise, if a new sub-forum for every domain extension, interest, and "segregation" is needed, the landing page will end up being two pages long.

We as staff, mods included, will be chatting and taking a look at what rules should be amended, if any, as well as determining if condensing any sections make sense.

My hope is we can keep this thread productive as both sides are after the betterment of the site.

All I can say is that I think we all know who aforementioned "mystery" mod is around here...here is a clue, it's not any of the other mod's except Biggedon.

and so you know Don, the type-in traffic, high ctr %, generic, GEO, travel destination name of "Dells, Wisconsin" is not a TM domain because the word "Dell" is in it...but you would'nt bother your perfect know-it-all self to figure that out before closing my two sales thread without even contacting me about it would you, lmfao...you should'nt be a mod here anymore, you abuse your power around here, break the rules yourself constantly trying to sell typos and tm names on the forum all the time and your lack of professionalism is astounding lately...maybe some time off is in order. All kidding aside, I'm totally serious. You attack people all the time on this forum and you play the tough gangster mod and frankly you try waaaaaaaaay too hard but everyone has to back down from you and not say much back because you are a mod and they don't want to get in trouble or "banned" for arguing with you, I think ALOT of members feel this way. I always considered us "friends" on the forum but over time your rude manner and bully tactics have really changed the way I look at you as a member and a mod..and that's not to say I am perfect or not guilty of doing some of the same stuff at times..but I am NOT a moderator on this forum. You are! At least you are supposed to be one that sets a good example for members and benefits the forum, not makes it seem like some tough inner city street corner. Just look at the way you talk to members in this thread.

Dude... I am sure I will somehow end up being the bad guy here somehow and Don will put some spin on this or bring up something else to detract from the point here, but someone has to say it and it might as well be me..and obviously it's not just me being affected by this since I did'nt even start the thread (and several have posted threads like this in the last few months that have got removed) and so many people are posting in this and reading it. I personally have kept quiet for far too long about this matter..and I'm sure alot more people have been very frustrated over it also. This forum is starting to really not even be fun anymore and it's really gotten way too gustapo run for comfort. But alas, they can always just tell us to leave and go somewhere else though I guess...seems to be the norm lately with alot of businesses. Hopefully this is'nt one of them, since it never was before. But just think now...the mystery mod is'nt a mystery anymore since he revealed himself so clearly to us all after I went out of my way to not get personal but was attacked personally myself for discussing the forum in what I felt was a healthy manner..and even though I & many others have been getting our balls busted by him for sometime now he actually can have a real reason to close all of our threads now and play tough guy with me and others who post here about him. I mean, being a mod and all you can do whaveter you want & say whatever you want right? ...right?
