I understand the need to carry a gun. However, Subway - (corporate)
would frown on a customer intervening into a robbery with a gun.
Unless you are a lawman.

If someone else would have been shot. You could have been sued.
But, so would the Subway franchisee and Subway corporate. And, Subway
Corporate has deeper pockets.

Furthermore, if Subway Corporate would congratulate you. And, something
bad happened in the future. Your "lifetime reward" of subs would be
used as evidence. And, how would someone find out? Thru the
deposition process.

Therefore, do not hold your breathe for a congratulations from Subway's
head office.

But, that was a brave thing you did. How long did you shake from
the
biological adreneline rush?

Good work. Police can only investigate after a crime has been committed most of the time.

I spoke too soon. The Subway franchise owner notified me late this evening that my money is no longer acceptable at that location, however my patronage to their establishment is always welcome.:-D

Shakes? I didn't get an adrenaline rush. At least, not the type that would normally cause shakes in a situation like this. I think that the adrenaline rush was largely suppressed by my previous military training. Looking back on the way that I handled everything, it was as if all my years of military training took over, down to the smallest detail. (I also credit a lot towards my training and experience as a Colorado Springs Mounted Ranger back in 1984-1985).

What kind of handgun? The kind that goes "BANG!" Actually, my pocket-pistol is a small Taurus 22 automatic. I also carry a 45, from time to time, but it's much to bulky to conceal in my jacket pocket. I'm trying to work a deal with a friend for a Glock 9mm right now.

What's really sad is that the girl working at the Subway told the police that another man walked in (before I came along) while the robbery was taking place. She screamed to him for help, and he took off running like a scared dog.

I'm sorry, but there's no way I would be able to look at my reflection in the mirror every morning if I had done something like that. The coward didn't even bother to run to the police station for help (only 4 blocks away), or to dial 911 from any of the 5 pay phones located within 300 feet of the Subway! I guess he forgot the number.

IMHO, this world doesn't need more people like me (though that's not a bad thought). It simply needs more people who are willing to stand as men (or women) instead of cowering as lesser beasts.

I do thank you for your wonderful praise, Vivnet, and everyone else that replied to this thread. It really feels good to get a pat on the back from time to time.

What would you have done if you had not carried a gun?

Been as "brave" as you were now?

That's not the issue, beatz.

The question is, would you have stood up and helped a stranger in need, RPG or no RPG?

Most people would just turn a blind eye.
