Has anyone here acheived a 100% sales record? This sounds like the behavour of someone who knows he's not going to be around much longer... completely unload inventory, make people feel good about getting a great deal. This is really a sad situation, and I bet it's not the last time something like this happens.

I doubt it.

But its a though.

Yes, death records have been looked at. It is now my belief that there never was a Nick Master. There is no record of anyone by that name living in the area where he said he lived (and no record of any of the relatives whose names he gave me). Whoever this individual was, for reasons we will probably never know, he was apparently using a pseudonym. No one that I know ever actually spoke to him on the phone and he refused to give out a phone number or call you (and I considered him to be a good friend). It is obvious that he did not want anyone to know who or where he really was.

There is a second possibility - that there never was a NamePopper at all. That NP was an alter-ego created by someone else. It seems bizarre but there is some evidence that this could have been the case. I can't prove it so I am not going to elaborate. I do think whoever Nick/NP was, we have probably seen the last of him, at least under that identity.

Duke, it is also possible that his legal name and street name are slightly different.

His legal name could be James N. Master, or some other type name. Or, James N. Mastership. And, that is why he may not exist on legal sites, etc.

Duke, if what you suggest is true, it would be utterly bizzare! Especially when you consider that the Nick we all knew was very warm, friendly and genuine!

It's just very difficult to believe he was a figment of somebodies twisted imagination! Especially since apparently several of his domains either have or were going to expire (before someone at DNF intervened)!

This has become an urban mystery worth being solved!

I think maybe its time to let NamePopper go.

Either
1) he exists and does not want ot be found, or
2) he never did exist and the person who created him has put him to rest, or
3) he has passed on and is resting in peace

Whatever it is, it seems clear that nobody here has the ability to learn the truth. Better that we remember him fondly and move on. If by some chance there is reason to re-open this case in the future, then we may be able to learn what the real story was.

I didn't know him, but I talked to him a few times and seemed like a good guy.

There should be a way to find out if he really is who he said he was. Anyone ever send/receive payments to/from his paypal account?. Any idea if you can contact paypal and find out his name?. Paypal would know because they have to confirm who he really is.

Also, maybe a mod could look at his IP's, and see if they are used for any other accounts. Also, maybe see if the IP's originate from his area(isp).
