Duke and I and my girlfriend talked extensively on the telephone about Nick. My GF came to the conclusion that Nick Master is/was not his real name. Upon talking to Duke, he also had arrived at the same conclusion.

Trust me, my GF did a TON or work. She spent upwards of 100 hours searching for him. After Duke and I and my GF spoke at length, Duke also followed up on a few leads. Nothing panned out.

From all of the information we have, there were a few things that just did not add up. Duke had figured this out for himself before we even spoke. By talking to him, Duke and my GF sort of confirmed each other's suspicions and drew the same conclusion - Nick Master was a ficticious name.

Why? Who knows. He has his reasons.

Perhaps the truth will surface some day. Perhaps it will not.

Well if it is a fake name, I see why its Nick Master. Take off the k and its NicMaster.

However, I do not see why he would do something like that. You would think a scammer would pull something like this, but he was the exact opposite. He was one of the best domainers out there.

I don't know, maybe he was in trouble with the law? Oh well, like somebody else said, I guess we will never know.

If someone recovers the account then maybe we can find some more information out. Who is Shawn Henderson?

It is not the act that is concerning, it is the who.

Given the amount of discussion here, I would have thought that someone with good intention would post an update. That said, this could all be innocent, if so, we should all find out soon enough.

Reminds me of all the "clues" people found afterwards when the rumor started that Paul was dead. (From the Beatles for you youngin's...)LOL

Seems you can always mold events when you look back and make almost any argument fit.

news from my front:
Part of my gif.org deal was the transfer of all parked domains for gif.org.
A lot of you noticed, that all of his names seem to expire and some of you tried to save them.
One of this names was fakin-it.com, i expected this name to expire yesterday but it has been renewed!
Don´t know if this means anything, maybe ??

That address rings a bell. Correct me someone if I'm wrong, but wasn't Richardson, Texas Gregr's old address? Maybe he extended it for NP or maybe.......

hmmmm...... that's just fascinating

Didn't Mr. Ricks actually disappear about the same time?

(if not literally, substantially?)

Not quite, but I notice that the address on Gregr's domains (whois) has recently changed.

You know, if you look back through this monster thread, that not a single post what-so-ever was made by Gregr.

Hmmmm, "Name-Popper" was a long-term mod at this forum and a fellow Texas resident. It seems to me that Mr Ricks knows more than he's not saying.

I'm beginning to get the feeling that indeed some mischievous slight of hand has been played out by our deposed dictator.

Duke / Logop, did you guys actually ever speak to him on the phone or were your communications via email / chat / IM?

Just my 2 pennies.

I have yet to hear from ANYONE that they actually spoke to NP on the phone. All communications I am aware of were by email (This is one reason why I think NP may have been a character made up by someone else. He refused to give a phone number or to make a call to you).

As Bob noted above, his girlfriend did a tremendous amount of investigative legwork on the Nick Master identity (as well as those of all of the relatives he named in the interview he did with me. None of those relatives appear to exist either - at least not under the names he gave. The story could have been real but the names appear to all be false).

From various conversations I have had with people, as well as public and private communications I have had with the NP persona (and considering what the motives might have been for creating the identity), I have a strong suspicion as to who may have been behind the character (if NP was an invented character rather than the scenario below). But as I noted before, without proof, I am not going to name names.

The other alternative I mentioned; that he was a real person (rather than a character created by someone else) using pseudonyms for reasons known only to him is also still a possibility. I am 99% sure one of those two scenarios is accurate.
