Puravida is SO RIGHT! When I read this thread for the first time today, I found myself reliving the hellish experiences I have had with Registerfly. Even the script of their girl who answers the phone "Our process is automated, so we cannot do anything" sounds eerily familiar just like the nincompoop techies they employ, who can neither solve problems nor write proper English.

I admit I fell for their free 'ProtectFly' trap...but I am wiser now!

Registerfly is hands down the worst registrar that I have ever dealt with. Inept customer service, ridiculous account layout, a FAQ that has no mention of how to obtain auth codes (go figure) but endless info on incoming transfers...etc...

I agree that Registerfly is a pain to work with. But, there are a lot of other
registrars that worse.

I only have a few remaining there. And, with Enom's new transfer deal, it might be
time to transfer them out of Registerfly.

The couple members who say they haven't had any problems with registerfly should count their blessings. Of course their time is now running out and they will get their domains screwed up just like the rest of us that used that crummy place.

Get out now if you can. Might take you a while as RegFly tends to deliver the wrong auth codes etc. Anyone still thinking Registerfly is ok, just do a search on this forum.

Nightmares a plenty, and what was Regfly's response to us all lest we have forgotten?

In answer to the problems experienced and complaints issued in the past by the members here, "Frankly, we don't give a damn"

All my remaining names from old deals at regfly are en route outta there!
There's two .ws that will be stuck for as long as the registry won't allow transfers between registrars. I just emailed website.ws to see what the plans are for the future to transfer .ws around.
RIP regfly.

Let me share my story too...I have been registerfly for many years. Had lost some domains, and some money over the years but I stayed on as I am used to their system. However, since the past year, their support has been horrible, almost to the point that one find it pointless to talk to them - just plain helpless. I started moving out my domains recently, but faced much difficulty - they delay, they would not provide the authorisation code, give you stupid answers when you raise a ticket for help - just everything to hinder the process. Plus, sometimes, renewals went through but no extension was actually added... Worst, they still send me renewal notices for domains long transfered out... judging from expereince, I am afraid the system will take the money but blame the customer for the "mistake" -- so no refund! I don't know what's happening there. Is the system really real-time? It used to be better. Long back, I had a domain "successfully registered" in my name but only to find out after one year that it was someone's else. In other words, I was happily "owning" a phantom domain which was "registered" in my registerfly account, but was not. They refunded me after I complained. But the good staff who listened are all gone now! Is the company crumbling? They gave me no choice but to consider leaving... My Wild West Reseller provided better service and cheaper domains with less problem...

I have over 100 domains registered there and haven't really had any problems that ended up costing me money.. I want to eventually become a top level eNom reseller myself but that costs a lot of money obviously.

Wow! a RegFly customer who has NOT lost money or domains. I guess it is a possibility but like winning the lottery.

I am slowly but surely transferring out of RF.
Can't wait till they are all moved out.
How do these folks stay in business is a mistery to me.

I have a problem with registerfly. When I recently tried to renew my domain, it failed to go through. A check showed that the WhoIs data is gone (empty). The domain has not expired. What does that implies? Anyone has similar experience and know what best to do about it?

Thanks.

It could imply one of two things.

1. The domain had already Expired and was deleted from the database
2. Your domain was hijacked.

If the Latter then I would contact RegisterFly to find out when I was transferred.

Thanks for the advice, Namestrands.
Hope it is not the latter. It is one of my most precious domains - one I won't even let go for money!
I will check it out.

Registefly sucks period. I just got charged on my credit card yet I get an email saying the renewal failed. If people would stop registering names there then selling them on this forum I wouldn't have to deal with them.
