I hope those changes you mention include putting someone on the optimization system that knows what they are doing and can get it back to how it used to be because this issue with the random keywords and unrelated results and system losing all the highly clicked keywords that take SOOOOO long to get to show up on the page is making your company and us lose alot of money, that pizza domain is at like 20-25% ctr today and it's always usually over 40% or so because it lost all the keywords from me just edititing the page title on the browser..I'm sure overall the amount is very large when you factor in the decrease in click values from poor keywords and lack of related keywords system wide on many domains and all the optimization that gets lost and has to reset itself...and for some reason the "good" keywords don't seem to come back now like they used to...I am scared to edit any domains or change a color or picture because it will reset everything keyword wise right now...gotta have that keyword locking feature if possible my brother, and if we could suggest or include more than just one keyword that would be golden

I know we all want this and that and everyone has ideas about how to fix everything but parked.com's optimization system has always been the best just up until recently...and it's making a big negative impact on alot of domains I can imagine..it does'nt even let me remove most of the keywords I don't want now, they just stay there and are generic one word unrelated terms that make it look like a random parking page and make the ctr% go way down..and none of the old ones cycle through anymore that have historically got all the clicks.

As focus mentioned, multiple related keyword suggestions would be a nice feature to go with locking down keywords. I too have noticed some dialed in domains have dropped off on-topic keywords and have been replaced by some rather nonsensical ones.

Let me explain something about your highly clicked keywords. The problem is with some of your domains, you have so many clicks that basically their are very few or no advertisers left. So basically what you get is our backfill providers, who pay next to nothing. Now I won't go into the fact that on one domain you have more than 600 terms in the remove box, but that doesn't help the situation. :)

So the biggest problem we have been seeing lately is that the volume of advertisers has gotten less, because of this people have been getting more backfill results. I'm going to solve that problem. So does that mean that chili may show up on your domain, possibly. But I can guarantee you that you will probably get paid more than you were before.

I think everybody will be happy with the end results, now to remove that remove box...

:pound:

for good reason lol hahaha

the keywords in question here though have all the advertisers and are not backfill ones..the current optimization system seems to not pull them up like the old one did..I have the list of keywords that "should" be there and went poof when I edited the title of the page...will email you.

I sincerely hope we don't lose the remove box..that would be tragic.

Without going into too many of the inner workings of how our system works, this is what changed yesterday as the first step in our overall improvements.

For a keyword to show up on a landing page we require that our primary provider have at least Y advertisers paying for that keyword. The problem is as the economy has changed the number of advertisers for the long tail keywords gets closer to X. To solve this problem, we now require that a keyword have at least Y times 3. Which means you will have keywords with a stronger advertiser base then before. It also will mean that you will have a little more variety than before as well.

It's just the first part of about 50 we will put by Monday sometime.

What about domains that are not edited and already optimized with "old keywords"?

Like had I not touched that one and changed the title..those keywords would still be there I'm guessing..and they were not obscure keywords, just the big searches that get all the clicks.

Really the tragedy here and I am sure Focus can agree, isnt so much generics as it is TM names lol

Nothings worse than having a tm name and not being able to get the keyword matched up for a top result lol

For example. the name of a shoe company, cannot make it the top result but get every other company that sales shoes or shoes on ebay :(

Cant a man just infringe easier lmao

Every domain in our system is regenerated at least every 5 days. If the domain gets more than a certain number of clicks it gets updated everyday.

I see, does it optimizes to that ad specifically?

Here is the issue with that and how we lose some revenue ( assumed ).

If I own for example a typo of Nike and the ads displayed near the top say " Nike Shoes " or " Nike Clothing " yet never lead to anything but ebay or a further landing page or low paying advertiser, they would of course get the click(s) and the sytem optimizes them at the top as well ?

So low paying, untargeted ads that simply LOOK LIKE what the visitor wants actually hurts. If I select Nike as my keyword than Nike.com should be at the top :)

It doesnt seem possible to dictate the ad results even by entering a name.com, is it possible to do or would it simply lead to just one ad than and if so is that even a bad thing ?

This is another issue. I think it depends on if the domain is allowed by Yahoo or not allowed by Yahoo. If the domain is not allowed by Yahoo then you would be getting low paying crap as I like to call it. Send me the domain and I'll take a look.

We do optimize based on what is clicked on, but that's based on the keyword not the order of the ads.

I think we are all focused on generics here and non tm results and typos should not really enter the discussion because that's not our focus :pray2:

Jp, send me stats! :smokin:

Donny, can you revisit this issue, it's related to all this:

http://www.dnforum.com/f366/parked-stats-content-searches-thread-320451.html#post1533543

Summarized again here:

DS functions Parked should incorporate:

->tracking search keywords

->ability to add more than one keyword when forcing keywords

In your DS account, try with any domain:

View Domain Report Details -> Keywords
Then can look at Top 50 Keywords and % Searches and % Clicks
for yesterday as well as this/last: week, month or year.

Poker - As far as the stats go, we are working on that and that will be one of the options as well. I'm still not sure how far we will go back though yet, but it will be one of the options.

As far as adding more than one keyword for a domain, that is something that is on our list, but won't be available when we make these changes on Monday. The biggest problem we have is that if somebody puts in an adult keyword and a non-adult keyword so we still need to work some of that out.

donny is it possible to have the same html editor as we use on whypark on parked - the editor at parked is much more difficult - it is a breeze at whypark because of the source button - it lets me add javascripts with aff ads in seconds - like this : twinsizebeds.net

i don't seam to be able to ad javascripts on any parked pages - is this correct and is there a reason for this ?
