I am impressed that Rick retained ownership of RoomDivider.com singular.
Maybe their competitor will pay more. Very impressive indeed.

As for the people that think this one is over rated...A search for "room dividers" in google
Results 1 - 10 of about 2,220,000 and the new owner is the top advertiser

just when u think rick cant top past efforts in terms of squeezing the absolute max out of a sale and then some he does it again
he is THE MAN when it comes to sales

you do know he will top this soon?

you know tj demas and the nuts cash hes been throwing around for numeric domains, all part of his masterplan

well he's short of one i noticed................... 243.com

guess who by chance owns it?

my prediction? he's already offered rick the 188k mark, but rick being rick is hanging on for a new record for a nnn.com , prob 400k ish

watch this space :uhoh:

Why not? The price sounds about right to me, maybe even on the low side for an end-user sale.

Room Dividers is a popular niche home and office furnishings product. In fact, I believe they are used more commonly in Asian (Oriental) nations than elsewhere (and offices everywhere).

Yes, but seriously, if you use the term in the UK, all you will get is a blank stare. Can you imagine the reaction in Tokyo or Beijing?

The equipment used is for Offices not rooms in general which implies domestic. Most people would go to Office Furniture to buy. Lets face it you might actually need to pick up a few desks and chairs whilst you were on.

Resonance? Yes, a right Clanger!

Rick used to import Korean Furniture.

Does that sound like too much of a coincidence?

Or perhaps a bit of manipulation and hype in advance of the big event to prime the auction bidders?

RD, you really do win the prize for the most bitter domainer.

OOps. Sorry for the mistake. But did anyone check the whois?

I Checked the whois at NetworkSolutions. and it is showing Record Created on 1st Sep 2008.
Could someone explain this? I mean, the domain was dropped catch?

If yes, then really very impressive.

Really Strange. Has anyone checked the whois???

RoomDividers.com originally registered in 2001 then it dropped and catched on 1st September 2008 (5 Days Back) and SOLD for $75k WITHIN 3 days of being catched?

Really, Extremely Impressive, if the sale is legit

RD, you really do win the prize for the most bitter domainer.

You might think so, but I consider it objectivity.

Rick self appoints as leader of industry and attempts to gain total control over markets. He is in his own words, "King" and "King Maker". He certainly tries to behave like a monarch and regularly demands tribute from ordinary domainers.

And like the rest of us are not allowed to question his actions? I know democracy in the US is reaching a pretty low ebb, especially with growing evidence that the Government is banging out over optimistic headline advance stats and then quietly revising them to the dark side retrospectively, but I was not aware that it has yet become a police state.

If you want to buy into his BS, then that is your perogative. Don't let me stop you. I don't feel sorry that you got caught up in the dot Mobi, pump and dump. Go and fill you boots with dot Me for all I care.

No it's not a glitch. There are two sections in .com & .net domains: registry data and registrar data.
Registry says the name was created in 1999 which is correct.
Registrar (Netsol) says the record was created in 2008 on their end - I assume it was transfered. Others registrars have that behavior as well.

it's all just math, when you have a huge portfolio chances of finding a very motivated end user and landing a big sale just get bigger.

Negotiating skills help too. Anyways well done!

guys, don't be bitter, be bEtter ;)

money talks, bullshit walks my friend.

about .mobi... if you consider that ive spent about $0 on dotMOBI as of now and have over 400 of my best ones from landrush left for free, then yes i got "caught up."

but i call it being successful with a TLD most others failed at. i was buying/selling dotMOBI before there was any flowers.mobi sale.

money talks... all this forum talk BS walks.

So basically, you got in at the top of the Pyramid, benefitted enourmously from the Pump and Dump efforts (hence eternally grateful), managed to clear the red ink before the whole edifice collapsed leaving all the poor suckers that got in late to get burnt.

Kudos my friend. So what is your next project?

ooooo, very dramatic.

i should have figured good ol' Rubber Duck had a functional crystal ball regarding the longterm viability of dotMOBI
