My children don't need to be protected from a guy who took a whiz in an alley at 2 AM five years ago.

I dunno, you gotta watch those public urinators... :uhoh:

There is 1 in my entire town, like 3-4 actually, but only one red one (red is the worst?) out of a population of like 20,000. Not bad.

Took a look in my area and checked out each individual person's profile: molestation and rape charges :| - I am thinking it is unlikely these are overstated offenses.

A map like that needs to be specific in regard to offences against minors, or it's meaningless. Unless of course, the legend is more specific; i.e. 'whiz in public', 'mooning', etc. Is there a map like that for the UK?

Anyway, at least Paul Gadd aka 'Gazza Glitter' has a few more months to serve than the sick **** expected. And I know that word will be auto-edited.

Don't feel bad Andy:
Rock, can you get a better image of the map? Too many damn dots to see anything else.

I don't want to even show the south florida map....it's like solid dots ;(
Just one big square, eh?

In all seriousness, crimes against children are crimes against children. No sugarcoating needed, no nice names needed, no soft tones.

I know one person who was charged with rape. He was 18, girlfriend 16, high school sweethearts, cops walk up to car...he's busted. They're married now, have been for more than 25 years. But, that's a tag he'll have and perhaps he's one of the yellow dots somewhere. So, we don't know the circumstances behind every crime.

But child sex offenders...different matter.

You can check the offenses at this site. I saw my old kneighborhood 2 offenders crimes were serious ones against chidren under 14. I think you and JBerry are getting carried away. Most of these are real crimes.

Indecent exposure IS a "real crime".

I do not believe that the incidence of child molestation exceeds the incidence of indecent exposure in such a way as to justify your use of the word "most" based on your sample space of 2.

Fab, what is deemed "real crime" is the decision to process an incident through court that doesn't make all convicted sex preditors.. All this site does is scare monger and harbour the dilution of social interaction...

It's true that a site like this should filter more in order to be more relevant. But the inclusion of lessor offenders should not take distract the discussion from the real danger. Sex crimes against children are one of those things where 1 is too many. Kind of like war casualties. You can't talk about them being "big" or "small" numbers because any number is a big number.

Totatally agree. This was the point I was trying to make. I will check a little more in depth to clarify what percentage are actuall heavy (sorry I used real), and what are light crimes.

With all respect you are looking at historical data with a likely of those people re-offending being low... The profile of potential offenders is what you should be looking at.. i.e. fathers, mothers, brother, uncles etc etc

Why do you think ther is a low likelyhood of re-offending?
