Crazy with a fee like that, i dont like sitepoint at all, i tried to sell a website there a time ago and my sales thread was totally destroyed with comments like : "this price is way to high", "lol you want sell it" etc... alot of unmature people there so the price is definitely not worth it!

What did the mods have to say about that? Didn't they delete the posts?

And if you check the listing date it says:
May 31, 2005, 16:59

That's almost 3 months before SP imposed the fee. Their little testimonial makes it sound as if the seller paid $9.95 to list their domain/website when in fact, it was just another regular no-fee sale.

Thank you, thank you very-very much :-D

It seems that they didn't care for the obvious backlash; all the posts I'm reading are against it.

If DNForum had imposed a $9.95 per listing fee, you and I would be posting on NamePr0s at this point :-D

but ultimately it was SitePoint's decision. They initiated the fee back in May 2005. They MUST be happy with it or else they wouldn't have expanded to Domains for Sale/Contests.

There are many people who are against it and there are many people who are in favor. It can NEVER make everybody happy.

True. And since they expanded the fee to domains, it will all come tumbling down.

actually probably true..I remembered he sold a website for low $$,$$$. I PMed him and purchased something smaller from him.

anyways... some people don't like the fee; I actually like it because it makes SitePoint Forum easier to navigate now.

Sure! There is nothing there to look at! Very clean indeed!

SP isn't a domain or site sale specialized forum so I find it hard to believe that they are going to institute this fee.

the fact that they implemented the fee was to stop us domainers from posting
this-domain-is awesome.com for $500, etc. etc. SitePoint is more geared toward webmasters/programmers/designers/marketers.....

I think they are happy with just 1-2 domains for sale post per week. Anyways...

Ya this is a very bad idea. If they gaurntee a sale then it's worth investing. For website sale it is ok as the sale can go higher but for regular domains :( one won't even reach 9$ with a regular domain sale.

..:: peace ::..

Even when you pay the mods do not help you delete ridiculous comments.
SitePoint Site Marketplace is basically a little kid hangout
