That's definitely what I got out of it too. Good job, Gary. While I understand Chris' suspicions, I don't think its a good interpretation of what's going on. Transparency can bite you sometimes I guess.

*I think I sort of understood this*
like gregr said, it should have read expirycompany A and expirycompany B, slip of the keyboard. :)

So would I be right in saying, that you never reveal to an outside party(expirycompany B); the identity of the bidder or the max bid placed with DW for a domain name you fail to acquire in a drop.

We never identify the owner of a dropwizard slot whether successful or not. I consider it a matter of client confidentiality.

Of course the whois tells everything about the successful ones after but that's not my problem.

I have it on good authority that Gordon even goes as far as painting his face, dressing in goat leggings, and doing ancient tribal dances around a raging bonfire under the moon before a big drop just on the off chance that it may help to get his clients names.

...Anyone have a problem with this?

As long as you get the name, who cares how it is done.

Gordon, would you go as far as to bid in NW up to an amount which would still leave you a reasonable profit if you caught the name for one of your customers?
I am jsut curious as it would leave less work for me:D

I considered it:D Given the %% success of the snap/dropwizard combo it would probably work. but you'd have to snipe it if you really want it.

Maybe I'll just change our name to ALLDROPS. where you can get an all-in-one.

Then you might get into a bidding war with your own customers. :D

Yes, I do have a problem with this. I am a goat activist and I feel this is just plain wrong!

None the less, Dropwiz has done well for me and Gordon has always handled business well with me. I have nothing but respect for Gordon.

The drop game is tougher than a mofo nowadays so dont count the names you dont get, count the names you do.

BTW: Isnt it cartoonz that sports goat leggings around town on a regular basis?
