I think there will ba a lot of sellers rueing the reserves they put on there names.

As for me I am even worse than those who put a high reserve on, I didn't even submit any domains, so that just shows that I am the bigger plonker.

By the way I also think the auctioneer did a fantastic job, hope they bring him over to Paris. He was like a marathon runner!

Wow, nice for a three word domain.

Yeah there are always a few that amaze me. If i was that domain dropping or for sale in the forums here i wouldn't even look at it twice.

I'm disappointed. My No.org had received higher offers at Sedo in the past, but I was hoping for some good bidding to get it past those offers.

There really wasn't a lot of bidding taking place. Porn.net did sell for 400k, but there was only one bid.

A lot of names were, in fact, undersold. Holland.net and Beijing.net are two examples.

Lesson learned: next time, submit to a tried and tested auction event.

i can't find it too. Snapnames has such a big base of customers. Why do they need to
hide this extended auction somewhere on their site? Why can't they let anybody
with the account and credit card on file to bid on the names? I thought that they are going to use
all their power to sell the names to their large snapnames community of bidders.

Extended auction should start at 5PM Pacific Time, that's in about 1 hour 40 minutes from this post.

Hope this helps.

Auction inventory is now out with a slightly different layout.... Log into snapnames, click on live auction, and then view auction inventory.

You need to click on the one you want to bid on... Not sure if bidding is opened yet.

Females.com is worth far more than 90K, IMO.

What is the link to the extended auction? They should have been making the link visible for days; making it easier might get a few more bids.

Females.com is worth far more than 90K, IMO.

Hard to say. The room was packed with 600 high profile domainers.
worth more for who? We talk about our desire and need to sell to the
end-users, but the auctions we have are for domainers. So, we just
flipping names to each other. The name maybe worth $500k but not
for the domainer, it should find the "end of the road". The "end of the
road" - the "grave" for any domain name is an end user that will take
the name and develop it, so this domain name is not a domain name
anymore it is much more than that - it is a business.

I think each domain name has a birthdate, and the "end" :). For me
the end is when the domain name dies, nobody flips it anymore, nobody
sells it as a domain. The domain died and the business is born.

This link should get you to the extended auction.https://www.snapnames.com/liveAuctionsInventory.do?conferenceId=1
I believe you have to sign into your account to bid?

I noticed that in the extended auction list that when you click on a selected name you are taken to a new page with information on the domain. You also see at the bottom of the page. " want to see similar names-more to explore) You are then shown a zillion other names? WTF, is this not an auction for the approved names? now your name is in competion with a lot of similar names?
Is this a standard procedure? Does not seem right to me.

I noticed that too... For example, I have Candidacy.info in the extended auction... When I go to view "similar names" it takes me to the .com .net .or extensions... All say starting bid $59. Makes it look stupid to bid on Candidacy.info, when Candidacy.com's "starting bid" is $59. I did a little more research, went to Candidacy.com and the name is for sale for 27k. Although the name is priced high... at first glance, it doesnt appear that way.

other suggestions that direct people away from the initial reason people are viewing the auction is bad. I agree.

Would rather see a better interface... Something layed out a bit cleaner maybe. I understand that this was the first live auction... but snapnames isnt new to auctions. Prices should be visible, bids, and the option of quick bidding should be available. Its also pretty hard for me to keep track of my auctions... Is the easiest way of seeing my auction activity by clicking on each domain? or is there something in my account I can click on to view "my auctions?"

I agree - it's very disappointing they would use the auction as an opportunity to sell other names. And the interface in confusing...I can't imagine an end-user new to this taking the time to find my name and not getting distracted by 'other names' that are cheaper...I wasn't going to complain...but I am surprised by this.

I am sure quite a few sellers are not to pleased about this format/interface.

I am definitely going to contact Snapnames and Oversee to bring this matter to their attention. It would help if others dropped them an email also stating their displeasure with the current setup.

I am sure Oversee will want to provide a system that works for all. They have a huge investment now with Moniker on board and a recent Capital deal

I am not going to post the URL of the auction software that Moniker is using, but
many people know that there is no need to reinvent the wheel, there is a system
already that used for one time auctions. Snapnames can just pay for the licence
and have exactly the same system that Moniker has running for them.
