I have to agree with what's been said already. That's a great price for the domain, being plural really hurts the value.

Agreed, as I stated above. However, case in point. Read many of the posts on the forum. and read right here in this thread there are plurals used instead of singular words. (See Carter's post for an example). Not picking on you Jaco, just pointing out that many non-english natives often pluralize words incorrectly, just as english natives often have no clue about other languages, myself included.

And spyware is certainly a highly searched keyword. Surely there are enough non english native speakers that will add the "s" to the end naturally. I do still think it's value to be substantially less than what was paid however. :)

i wonder what was a better buy.....spywares.com or dogdiarrhea.org for $4075???....:)

unreal!!!

Someone must have a product to sell that helps with it :)

I've seen the same trend. A pair of names I wanted a year and a half ago were selling for $500,000. They were offered to me earlier this week for $250,000. Interestingly, this same comapany was aggressively acquiring domains and had a division doing this. If I'm not mistaken, they have over 450000 names. They would hardly sell a name unless is was for lots of money. This same company now has a new division that's dedicated to selling names. Oddly, the guy that headed up acquisitions, now heads up the sales group. We didn't buy, even though the price is quite attractive. I wonder if they, being such a large player, have some inside information that prompted to go from buying to selling on the relatively cheap?

Andrew Mellon, the treasury secretary at the time of the 1929 crash and another ex-banker, was a model of consistency, preaching a policy of “liquidate, liquidate, liquidate”, to “purge the rottenness out of the system”. This helped to plunge the economy into the Great Depression.

I noticed Spywares.com sold for just over $4000 and I was one of the initial bidders.
It was radiculously low price.
What are your thoughts?

There is a big difference between Spywares.com and Spyware.com ...nap time is over :)

I agree the 's' hurts it but what about google and ranking, does google see a plural as different then the singular? What does google see as the keyword in such a domain? Any comments here that can effect seo?

As far as prices dropping, thats hard to say. You cant take a single low example and claim a trend. I am sure in any given year you could have found some domains selling for less than they should have.
