i have few reasons to think that this auction was an conspiracy and show running from the little office with radio DJ and background of sounds added

1. there was a number of participants always requested (to make attention) the numbers was as high as 500+,

a) so have anyone from the dncommunity participated in real - No ? Why? dnforum one of the biggest domain forums in the market and we have some few big buyers here as well, why no one from dnforum was participating

b) there was only few same voices at the background (screaming woman, the dj, the guy that points at dj's mistakes , and the guy that says the buyers number( as the dj re: "can't see from that far") why no big noise when 500+ people participating?

2. the owner of the show bought flowers.mobi for 200k? hm, if so, did he paid traffic commissions as well?or they put it on to marketing expenses bill and will do tax charge back?

3. why such a big numbers of newly "lucky mobi owners" complained abut no respond from moniker, when they was offering their mobis for this auction??

was the other .com's, that was listed there for sale by actual dnmembers was just bought by show owner&friends ( as they buys domains anyway)?

thats only few points , need to think of more, any help?

Sorry Angel but that is utter nonsense.

I was there and people from all walks of life were bidding on the names they believed were worth the asking price period.

I was there. I was bidding and it was an amazing experience and event.

I would reccomend Traffic to any domainer that is at the level to be able to afford it.

All the people putting this on are top notch professionals and the seminars and networking are worth every penny.

I've seen people talking conspiracy stuff on all 3 forums now and it is just nonsense.

Angel,

spare yourself some embarasment. The auction was not rigged. Anybody who attended TRAFFIC was permitted to bid. I made a couple of bids, and I personally witnessed other DNFers place bids.

Regarding the auctioneer not being able to see the numbers - if you had been in the room, you would have understood. He was in the front, and you could not see the numbers on the bidding paddles of the people in the back. I looked myself and had trouble making the numbers out.

Rick bought FLowers.mobi for 200k. So what? He bought CD.com for 275k at the auction in Las Vegas. He has money and he can spend it however he wants. Rick gets no commission from the sales at the auction. That is all Moniker's arena.

Why no big noise with 500+ people participating? Well, then you would not be able to keep the event organized. Not all 500 people were interested in every name. I was there and was interested in maybe 10-15 of them.

Sorry Angel but that is utter nonsense.

Angel is utter nonsense... his hatred for .mobi and his vigor to start a fight and arguments is all this thread is about.

He's calling RICK SWARTZ a liar... His blind denial is borne of it... don't get roped in. He is just being an instigator.

Just pull the plug on this thread now... it's total nonsense.

Where is this on CNN? Was there an article? Sorry I just want to know because I was in the hospital for the past few days and missed the entire auction. I'm so behind right now...

I heard they were offering a flight-training class after the auction. Nothing about landing or taking off, just flying an airplane once it's in the air. It was being taught by the CIA.

I don't really comment much but can't help it. To meet old friends like Think and Bob in person is enough to be there. Including Domebase, very humble.

I'm looking forward to see in future trade shows are Acro, Provider, creature, gopc and other folks that I do business. You might know all the meeting topics but sometimes we need to get out of our crib and hang-out, we might learn something good for business and share few tips in PPC.

Cheers and let's move on, buy my domains LOL.

you are utter nonsense, not me - you are so blind, you cant even see the difference between female avatar and male avatar, i'm she- not he

i do not call rick swartz a liar and i do not think rick swartz is a liar (as he has never stated otherwise) i just said he represents "Action Advertising Products Inc", you know what advertising is?

why these all "real participants from dnforum" appeared here only after conspiracy tread started, but not before at any tra-ffic treads to share this "amazing experience of the event"

who has the photos and videos?

updated ok, i don't care about mobi anymore

If they were at the auction as they said i imagine they have only just got home and checked into the forum to see what is happening...

Start showing your angel side of your persona and leave the 666 behind you will feel much better!

Wouldn't pulling the plug on this thread be absolute proof to Angel that it's all one big conspiracy?

This is actually a very useful thread, not least as a lesson in intercultural differences.

We need to understand that in many non-English speaking countries a conspiracy is usually seen as the best explanation for most developments; not starting with a conspiracy-based hypothesis is widely regarded as being naive (and often for good reasons, at least historically). People usually assume they are being duped - and who can blame them?

A Moniker employee at TRAFFIC did tell me that Rick gets half of the (15%) commission.

Not sure if it's true, but that's what I was told.

no that is not true either..but if its all fake, not sure how I would pay Rick or anyone commission. My poor auctioneer. He stood next to me for 4 hours and barked out names to an empty room and prettended to auction that list without any results.
