i think they have an exclusivity agreement that the sellers sign stating they will not sell the domain to anyone else for a certain time period... i could be wrong tho

There is not such agreement, that would be crazy, there is afaik an agreement if a sell within 6 month after the auction appears they have to pay 15% commission. But if I buy something this way I will not care if seller will report lower sales price to pay less. Because I will have no relationship with "Traffic" so I will not have any obligation or feel any loyality towards them.

we are not charging a fee....TRAFFIC is. This fee is to qualify buyers obviously...similarly to what Christies and Sotheby's does. There fees are $1500 to attend auctions

So its $795 (includes tax) and since the silent goes through Monday at 12 PM EST, it is open to others to participate. If you are interested, just email me and I will shoot you instructions and access. All the domains that did not sell are there plus all the domains that did not make the initial cut.

You was telling there is no fee for attending auction, you told the fee is for traffic where auction is part of it. But attending AUCTION ONLY cost suddenly 800 bucks. For WHAT may I ask ? If someone wants to buy 2-3 domains couple of hundred each...is your business, I will contact sellers via email after auction ends, thanks for the list though.

Suggest a fee reduction or something, Skipper. It appears the only way you know how to make a buck in this biz, is by threatening to use slimeball tactics all the time? Quit taking the low road and hiding out there in wanga wanga land.

I am happy with my 7-digit US$ income, thanks for asking. Now you better go to milk your cows.

Glad we are honest and humble.

Now...if we only had some ethics as well.

I don't really comment much but can't help it. To meet old friends like Think and Bob in person is enough to be there. Including Domebase, very humble.

I'm looking forward to see in future trade shows are Acro, Provider, creature, gopc and other folks that I do business. You might know all the meeting topics but sometimes we need to get out of our crib and hang-out, we might learn something good for business and share few tips in PPC.

Cheers and let's move on, buy my domains LOL.

Good to meet you also Watcher, and Ron, Think, Bob, Adam, Rick, Monte, NickM, Leonard, Sid, and other DNF folks (probably forgeting some as I write this... a little sleepy today ;) ) :grouphug:

I often try to make humorous posts to make folks laugh, but any effort to be humorous would pale in comparison to the start of this thread... so I won't try!

I was at the auction, it was staged by the same people who did the "moon landing".

Oliver Stone will be making a movie about it soon.

I was sitting next to Sig when we bid on cameras.com for 1.5 million dollars. If you don't believe us, I'm sure we can make a copy of the wire or whatever we will be sending.

I never thought that we would pay more than $15.00 for a domain, but at the last two auctions we have been the largest bidders, and we don't even get a discount from Rick for a badge to the show. So I definitely don't see any scandle going on.

All the info you need is at www.targetedtraffic.com
next show:
http://www.targetedtraffic.com/lv_show.html
To get invited, send Rick an email and detail who you are, some domains, some companies you're affiliated with, etc. and/or the reasons why you want to go to the show.

The entire T.R.A.F.F.I.C. "conference and live auction" was in fact a high school project prepared by 15-year-old Dee-Anne Phorum, who produced an entire Web-based radio show on her laptop computer with her father serving as "auctioneer" of an assortment of quality domain names. This radio show was broadcast over the internet on October 27th, 2006, fooling thousands of people worldwide that some type of "domain name auction" was underway. In fact, so many people were deceived by her fake auction radio program that she ended up with about $4.5 million dollars in her PayPal account! Her inspiration? H. G. Wells' radio program "War Of The Worlds".

Ms. Phorum also mentioned that her all-time favorite domain name is CONSPIRACY.COM because "conspiracy is such a popular word these days! It's thrown around all the time to question just about anything, no matter what it is."

In other domain news, the domain HELL.COM is owned by Mr. Lucifer Mephistopheles, a 43-year-old life insurance salesman from Hartford, Connecticut. When contacted, Mr. Mephistopheles was shocked and dismayed to discover that someone was attempting to auction off his favorite domain name without his knowledge. He was even more shocked and dismayed to discover that no one at the auction even bothered to bid on it. When asked for comment, Mr. Mephistopheles simply said, "Go to hell".

I just wanted to quickly add - just because something was/is on CNN does not make it true. I have no reason to believe this was a hoax (having attended previous TRAFFICs and auctions), but CNN and other news agency frequently fall for hoaxes (especially internet-based hoaxes).
