zimpco, not sure if you realized that the .tel domains are to be used as placeholders of contact info. You can't use DNS servers as far as I know. Watch the video links I posted above, straight from the .tel Registry.

If I have a business and a web site, I have full control over its content. I don't need an external placeholder to link to or get data from.

At NP at least one person bough two dozens. Instead he could have bought a LLL.com.
It is obvious a few persons didn't understand .tel cannot be used like conventional domains.

.tel is already dead even faster than .mobi IMHO.

Get sex.tel for all I care.

1. You'd probably lose it at WIPO
2. You can't point it to Sedo.

You all making me feel more guilty now, should've bought .com times 36. However, as .mobi has(d) exploded, so will this for the short run. Only hope is to offer it up to highest bidder. Sure they're out there!

heh well, you may personally be changing those stats... you seem to be the "yes man" of the domain forums. so far, all ive seen you do is repeat things other people have said or things you think you'll be cool for saying.

What I find funny is that the registrars aren't even bothering to promote .tel. There was a huge fuss over .me, and everyone had the .me logo posted all over the place. GoDaddy even crashed because so many people wanted in on it.

This on the Dynadot.com homepage:

TEL Landrush

Get in on the ground floor of a brand new TLD, dotTEL! Almost all TEL domains are still available.

Who would have thought?

GoDaddy, master of all things bloated, doesn't even seem to have the word .tel on the homepage. I bet you that the only .tel page people will be interested in is the .tel page of the morons who came up with it, so they can call them and complain.

Furthermore, where are they hosting all this crap? (and on a related note, what jurisdiction does all the contact data fall under?)

Most all top names are taken, did a thorough review. I'm betting on Telnic to adjust their business model, once everyone goes for the open in March...well, those customers will be sorely mistaken and demand money back. It's a long shot, but seeing how this company committed to such a lengthy process getting to this point, they'll go in of two directions; offer up the .tel for web site development or stick to their plan one pagers. Yes, I'm aware of the offer so I committed to one good name. Anyone buying more than that is taking a huge bet that remains to be seen until later in the year. Believe me, they're going to get a poor review unless they provide a wanted product.

I don't think so. What a shame. I could have really used that $1200.
