Don't get me wrong..I have no personal problems with Denny, in fact I like the guy and at one point I was more of a loaded gun than he was. But is he the respected icon and public overall representation of DN Forum and the "Best Member of 2006"?

How can he get like 18 votes and the majority says to take him off? That makes no sense. A plurality voted for him. That should be good enough.

I think that most of his votes were placed in order to get him back, almost like a petition, not because he was the "best" member of the year.

it would be nice if some of those who voted for him would come forward and tell us why you believe he is suitable to be DNF member of the year.

The logic thing is to have a current member as "Member of the Year".

If someone changed his nationality, you wouldn't think he would be able to represent his original country in the Olympics, would you? :)

Alright. DENNY007 votes will be deleted. My reasoning is that most votes were placed due to the fact that member's thought it was wrong for him to get banned. I think that most people voted for him to try to get the admins to let him come back. The mods and the admin BANNED him for a reason..this should automatically disqualify a person for "best" member of the year.He has his own forum now and I am sure he will prosper there. No hard feelings, its just a poll.

None of us domainers really like to conform or bow to authority and the "normal" way of life that society and governments impose upon us with the whole work forever until you are in your 50's or 60's plan and pay bills paycheck to paycheck from a 9-5 job the rest of your life scenario, it's this drive and individuality that brought alot of us to be domainers and seek that fast buck and an alternative method to the madness..hell, our business was FOUNDED on domain squatting to begin with and that's where the big sales originally came from and what brought attention to this industry before ppc or typos were even thought of. Was it fair for the companies that had to buy their domains back for huge prices from squatters when they should have been entitled to their own names in the first place? I don't know..you tell me. What ever happened to "first come first served", or "early bird gets the worm?" It's survival of the fittest, and I think this contest has become an outlet for people who don't believe in banning other members and if anything fear it happening to themselves and maybe not even really know or want Denny back but just don't like the idea of authority and "them" exerting that power and control over people here in general. I don't like it either. Censorship sucks monkey balls and the threads that were started to "bring denny back" got moved to the area 51 or whatever never to be seen again here on DNF so the only place to post about it is here in this thread with a vote. Same reason if we can't have "Google.com" we will get goopgle.com and so on and so forth, it's just a control issue complex we all seem to have imo. :eek:k:

There should'nt be just 1 "best member" it should be like a top three and maybe since he got so many votes Denny should get (Dis)"Honorable Mention" or as Acroplex suggested.. "Worst dressed domainer award!" lol

now denny`s votes are gone?
This is not how things are done.
You should have specified the rules before they votes where made.
It makes no difference if he was/is dnfmember.
