It's easy to invent issues with domains if you're sad enough to try hard enough. Sorry you're so sensitive about your mobis.

...says the guy who registered a brandable term 2 weeks after landrush when tons of generic terms were still available.... horrible decision... horrible domain.

YouNews.net and YouNews.org were registered in 2006 about the same time the .mobi was..... that should tell you something cptn brandable.

im sensitive about nothing... you registered a crappy brandable domain and blame the extension when you can barely get $0 for it.

lesson #1: just because it sort of resembles "YouTube" doesnt make it valuable... the phrase makes absolutely no sense. YouNews has pretty much zero value as a domain no matter what TLD its in... which is why the .net and .org were registered about the same time as the .mobi

Are you a true collector ... or do you occasionally sell some from your undoubtedly large stash?

I sell when people show me the money. Not words.
Good work (isn't it ironic, good work seriously).

Moniker.com shows $7.49 on it's home page. Good until Oct 24.

It is for new regs only; Transfers are for $12.95.

Current Registrar is charging $16.99 for Renewals

Where's the cheapest and best place to Transfer .mobies at the moment?

Best so far I found is $12.99/year.

Anyone??

Unfortunately - the cheapest on the market right now is GD with $10.20 per transfer.

Hi Muris, how do you get the $10.20 price for transfers at GoDaddy, the best i have found is $12.19 when using the 20% discountcode?

I have invested around $7,000 in .mobi so far, and sold most of them, total revenue around $30,000. Not a bad investment. Still have around 10 .mobis in my portfolio inc the premium Forum.mobi (anyone interested, drop me a pm)

.mobi sucks? I can't comment here, but I sold Sucks.mobi for $3500 long time ago to the owner of Sucks.com ;)

I bet a grand that none, absolutely none of the .mobi that were registered two year ago will drop on Sep 26, 2008.

I think it would be unfair to compare raw numbers to numbers in regards to how many mobi's drop vs. how many .com's.

Naturally, over the course of many years, there are more .com registered.

The numbers of .com's dropping on a daily basis are simply staggering.

It needs to be looked at on a percentage regged vs a percentage dropped over the same time period.

If, 25% of the .mobi regged over the 2 year course are being dropped yet 45% of the .com regged over the same period are dropping, then I am not sure there is a valid point to be made of throwing money away on .mobi.

I swear, not a single .mobi domain from those registrations will DROP on that day.
They will just...... expire on that date. ;)

They'll drop some weeks later.......
