Because it's all praise, which makes it irrelevant.

Because we all do deals on the forum and know who the good guys are anyway.

Because new people coming on the forum might lump good guys who haven't had a mention with bad guys who haven't had a mention. Are we going to have to praise and list 99% of the forum members? No. Therefore it is a waste of time.

Because it's a waste of forum space and bandwidth.

Get rid of it.

Not only is it irrelevant, but we've reached the point where half the players have multiple threads (Domainnut and Topnames have three each, all richly deserved, of course, but stretching out the category)....the praise is neutral at best, but what we really need to know is who the players are who don't deserve praise.....and we find those out quickly enough through the threads in the sales and auction sections.

Well... the "User Praise" thing sounds doomed!

But don't you guys think SOME kind of "Rransaction Report" would be helpful? Ebay and Paypal all have something like this.

And "Neutral" domaineers would show up as "neutral"!

This would make it VERY easy to know who's worked to earn trust, who's earned distain, and who's still an "up and coming.."!

Just a thought...

Sort of a "Wall of Shame"?

Not a bad idea, HOWEVER..... this will tend to ignore the good and the neutral, while still punishing the bad.

What would be wrong with an option to "Get Transaction Report" on any member before you do business with them? Remember, DCG is diligently working to get more and better (read "deep pockets") members to this place!

It seems to me, anyone with a good record should have zero objections to a rating system, while the bad guy wants to lurk in the dark, waiting to spring an "ouch.com" upon the unsuspecting domaineer!

Don't mean to sound melodramatic, but this would be ESPECIALLY important for the more unseasoned trader.

IMHO!

and how can DNF confirm one member has completed a transaction with another member - it is almost impossible to prove.

Thats why I think the 'Wall of Shame' is our best option

Good point Daniel! But of course, the same would apply to the "Wall of Shame" as well!

This is why an overall "Transaction Report" would over time reflect a very accurate picture of any active domaineer! We would ask members to take a moment and report on the outcome of a transaction. Over time these would accumulate into very good statistics.

Allowing a member to dispute a neg would be important- and allow the management to make final determination.
