To the moderators: I found out that Rick has a platinum account so I am moving the thread to where he can read it.

To the owners of DigiPawn since you like to advertise here, QUIT SPAMMING ME!

It seems the %$%^^ who owns this service keeps going to SEDO, looking up whois info on a domain and spams the owner with emails like this one:

Sterling Davenport,

Hi! I saw your domain XXXXXXX.XXX for sale. We are interested in talking
to you about your domain as we might be interested in purchasing it, but
we do not pay retail.

Of course, if you are not really interested in selling the domain, we can
advance you money for your domain. Please visit www.digipawn.com and know
how your asset can work for you.

Let me know if you are interested in pursuing either of these options.

Sincerely,

Kissinger V. Reyes
The DigiPawn Team

THIS IS THE THIRD SUCH SPAM EMAIL I HAVE GOT FROM THESE IDIOTS AND I AM SICK OF IT.

This is the only warning I am giving to these idiots, if you know whats good for you, quit spamming me.

I do not and will not ever do business with businesses that use spam as an advertising tool.

is this sort of spam legal? i wonder what sedo has to say about this, spamming their users! There have been others who spam domains in sedo by mass, best option is forward them to sedo and complain in mass and they will do something about it like take legal action against them or ask them to stop. If people actually want to pawn their names they would search in google pawn domain!

Its like a domain forum spamming users in sedo to join their forum to sell their domains, its a CHEAP WAY of advertisement.

And DNForum is doing business with a spammer.

Whats the difference between these emails and those phishing emails or the cheap viagra ones? These are just as bad and should be stopped.

Im going to report them to spamcop, Digipawn, Not a very good way to do business spamming your potential users.

I don't know why they keep sticking up for him too. Wrong is wrong no matter how much money or great domains you have. There has been how many threads about the dislike of the business practices of this company. And yet they still stick up for him. I guess everyone has a price. It just goes to show that shady business practices are wrong as long as you don't own "dollars.com"

I figured after the last flaming they got they would have stopped all this BS, I really dont understand... I mean why would you want to have a good portion of the domain name reseller community against you... without our support you got zip.

Added : I think all actions in general should be considered, whether done via here or elsewhere. I mean what if someone was a known ahole elsewhere, would you alow them to remain at DNF cause they havnt done anything wrong here, that dont make sense to me...

Well, except for:

1) the repeated audio-assult on DNF members (see the other threads for all the complaints about this)

2) Getting many DNF users to install ad-blockers as a result of #1, making DNF not very valuable for legit advertisers,

... no, no harm done at all!

DNF is aware of this companies business practices so does that mean you take advertising dollars from someone doing bad things just so long as they don't do them here? Either you stand against spammers or you stand with them there is no middle ground we will take your money just don't do it here wow.

Its not related to dnforum therefore it doesnt matter?

If somebody steals a domain from a namepros member are they happy to be an active member here?

Spam is one of the worst things on the internet and dnf is accepting money from one.

I'm not going to argue with you guys. I know that I have helped many people who wouldn't have known about us unless we marketed our service to them but so be it. I have instructed my guys to stop sending these emails for the time being. You win so stop complaining.

Let them advertise and waist there money here. Not many people on DNF would do business with them so let them keep paying

That's where you are wrong. The people that are complaining here I haven't done business with but many of the others have. I will renew my advertising contract with DN Forum.

Rick, just a thought:
Maybe the complaints will stop when your illegal spamming stops?

DotComGod: It looks like Rick's implying that 'the guys' at DigiPawn are our of control and won't do the ethical thing unless they have a good reason. Perhaps a good reason might be... Oh, I dunno... DNForum refusing to renew the ad contract for an illegal spammer?

Here's your chance to help Rick and DigiPawn more embarrassment!

I'm not embarrassed in the least. It takes a lot more than this to get under my skin. We have a ton of money and a ton of customers so I don't see what the problem is. I also know that what we are doing isn't unsolicted bulk email. We are approaching people that have their names listed for sale and asking them if they want to talk about selling them or using them for collateral. I guarantee you that we wouldn't lose that battle in court. Lastly, we are stopping it because you all have repeatedly asked us to and I want to show you that we will listen.

If you want to continue complaining, that's fine by me. There really isn't bad publicity for my type of service.
