Rick. Great to hear the auction via webmasterradio and congratulations.

Would it have been possible for your average millionaire to pop over to the Traffic event at the last minute and place a bid having read the news about Hell.com on CNN ?

http://money.cnn.com/2006/10/27/technology/hell.com_domain/index.htm?postversion=2006102710

Or would they have been prevented from showing up in any way?

Thanks again for the entertainment last night via webmasterradio. Really enjoyed listening.

Creature

Thank you.

We had 3-4 register during the week. So qualified bidders could have come right up to the auction. That was the idea behind the $795 pricing.

I really loved the Live Auction, I mean the tension and happy, sad, nervous feelings that our domain players got just listening in. Where else can you get a HIGH like that in our proffession. So what! a few domains didnt get sold, they will, sooner or later (the better ones). TO THE BOO'ERS OUT THERE ---- till next time just:

1) Dream of HELL.(com).
2) Go to the ELECTIONS.(com) next month.
3) Drink a bottle or 2 of BOURBON.(com) or WHISKEY.(com) on XMAS.(com), be carefull, nothing LETHAL.(com), check out the BROTHELS.(com), if you aint married that is.
No DOPE.(com)!!! I mean it!!! And while your drunk dont forget to let ET.(com) TELEPHONECALL.(com) home.
In the morning ET.(com) will be gone with the FEMALEESCORTS.(com), your headache will feel REMARKABLE.(com) and you will DANCE.(com) the day away.
4) And just wait for the next Traffic AUCTION.(com), take the 757.(com), and then you will RAKE.(com) it in.

P.S. In some states BROTHELS.(com) might be PROHIBITED.(com), so be carefull.

Sorry, :focus:

note: all domains used were at the Auction but were not sold, all but one ---telephonecall.com--I guess ET made it home after all. :)

"114. MusicClub.com - Not sold (passed on $100k bid)"

What does this mean exactly? Was there a $100k bid that was made and passed on because the reserve was not met?

If so whoever that bidder was I am the seller and I am willing to sell at that price. I wanted the original reserve to be $100,000 not the $117,500 that was stated. Sent a PM to Monte I hope he gets back to me soon. If anyone knows who the bidder was or who else I can contact please let me know.

I think your Moniker account rep can contact the bidder and try to get the deal done.

The $117K figure was after commission. If you sold at $100K your take home would be $85K.

It's unlikely auction staff would remember or know who placed the bid.

Thats fine thats what I figured going into the auction. There must be a way staff can get the info they have this on video dont they?

There are some residual interest after the events that we are following up on. In the live auction, there was no way to track all the paddles that went up unless it was the high bid. However, there have been several names inquired about after which we are working on.....again the reason for the exclusive agreements.

Perhaps the Moniker wouldn't mind sending out an email to everyone who attended the event offering the name for sale at the lower price.

No doubt they have thought of that already !!

Monte just informed me that there was no $100k bid made on this name. I was given wrong information I apologize but it does bring up a good point. Its good to know they are still working on the residual interest in the names and I think the 6 month exclusive is fair.

Monte I just heard it and someone did make a bid of $100k for MusicClub .com. Please find out who it was I want to sell at that price. In my contract I have the reserve at $100k.

Topfetch...no he said "thank you for the bid but i cannot start it there" then he went to reserve at $100K then slightly above then back down to reserve an there were no takers. It was just the way it sounded. I remember that there were no takers on that domain at that time.....great name though and we will continue to try to sell it.

Monte please look at it again I know what I heard and so do several others who told me the same thing and all of the sites who posted wrote the same thing. He had a bid at $100k and started saying $105k like usual. He even said it himself. No one went for $105k so then he said thanks for the bid but I cant sell at that price. I know there is someone there who made that bid question is who was it and can you get to him. Im sure you guys will continue your hardest to try and sell it but theres no point to do that if you can just contact this person. You said it yourself by saying "thank you for the bid" that proves the fact that there was a bid and the auctioneer said $100k looking for $105k like he was doing the whole night.

I listened to the auction and remember thinking how crazy someone would have to be to turn down 100K for the name. It also seemed like the auctioneer didn't spend a lot of time on the bid.

Bottom line is that Monte was there and he says there was no bid. I don't care what you guys heard. Put it this way....if someone actually bid 100K then he definitely knows how to get in touch with you (or Monte)....unless he was struck by lightning in the last few days.

It's a very good name, but OF COURSE you would take 100K, and OF COURSE the auctioneer and Monte would have tried to close the deal if there truly was a 100K bid. Even though this guy doesn't exist, he will certainly lower his bid once he sees how anxious you are to sell.....but he doesn't exist.
