No matter how we look at it, .eu is and will remain a regional tld. the debacle in it's launch has stolen whatever thunder the hype may have achieved. In the long run, .us will have an edge over the .eu (after the bubble finally bursts). Look at how .us works with words like delicious, fabulous, obvious, etc. How many words do you know that ends with .eu (perhaps mainly french names - and the French aren't that excited about the extension). When it comes to domains, most people are thinking global, not regional (and that's why I think cctlds are not a very good idea). Within the next few years, we will have so many extensions that it would be near impossible to remember all of them. As for me, .com, .net, .org, .biz and, in some cases, .info are the only extensions that will stand the test of time. I hear we are soon going to have .asia? What's next? .africa? I don't like this regionalisation when we should be encouraging globalization!
