Gallon, SchH1 (and obviously BH), Kkl1 "a", UKC-Ch,

SG-12, SG-10 at the Denmark Sieger show in 2004 and 2005 (respectively), SG-1 at the Broward Schutzhund club's Seiger show.

http://www.vonjagenstadt.com/gallon.html#pedigree

He has the same father as the litter of puppies we just had (back in September) and he is wonderful.

Edit: I just need to get a bite sleeve now to get him up to a SchH3. :D

TY. He bonded with me within minutes and now I can't even lie down on the couch without him jumping on to join me. I got to work him a little and his obedience is perfect, we should have NO problems getting obedience titles on him. My wife may also take him herding to see how well he does (maybe even some herding titles). He's also going to make an excellent service dog and will join Kiri in defending our home if anyone tries to break in.

He's also a bit of a goofball. ;)

He's 5 years old now, I think he's way beyond that now.

The puppies (his half-siblings) are all adopted out and 5 months old now, they're beyond that, too.

That's awesome! We went to a Schutzhund club about a month ago, as we are very intersted, but I just don't have the time to commit to it. Maybe when the kids get older. We are working toward a CGC right now with my eight month old :)

Anyway good luck to you, he's a beautiful dog!

Look into AKC's new S.T.A.R. Puppy - it's like a CGC for puppies. Any puppy under 12 months is eligible (as long as they pass the test).

Sorry, my dog catching days are over.

I ended up being Kennel Master in the Air Force.

I still have scars on my hands and arms from some overly powerful jaws.

I think I may have told you that we used to be heavy into Sch and shepherds.

The Black and Red were my favorite.

Anyway good luck to you, he's a beautiful dog!
If that rott in the picture is yours, he's beauty.

The most powerful dog I every caught was a rotty named Diablo.

That is spanish for Devil.

I thought he had crushed my arm and was going to pull it out of my shoulder socket.

In regards to adoption, highly recommended.

Pedigrees are great but great dogs are in the dog pounds.

We now have 8 adoptees, 5 being yellow labs.

The labs are being trained as therapy dogs.

We have one certified and 4 in various stage of training/certification.

2 will be ready and certified later this spring.

Dogs rock!

I fully agree. While I do think the best place to get a dog is though a reputable breeder, there are plenty of excellent dogs in shelters and in rescue groups.

Never though a back yard breeder, puppy mill, or puppy store.

Nice looking Dog Draggar, Congrats!!!....

Were having our Mini Schnauzer neutered next week, I hear the recovery process is not that easy, so were a little concerned... He's a pure bred but we really have no interest in breeding.

That's the right thing to do, Raider. Not only does it eliminate the chance of "mistakes" happening - it's actually healthier and he should also be calmer / sweeter. The recovery process - it should be at most 24 hours for the worst of it then maybe a week's worth of painkillers for him. This is assuming he's not old.

I took Gallon out to work last night with a bite sausage (a tightly stuffed "roll" made of suede and a handle that I made). He almost dislocated my shoulder while playing tug - he's a strong boy! I'm apprehensive now for when we get a bite sleeve...

Thanks Draggar, I feel a little better about it... "Sparks" is only 3 years old, when he was 1 year old, he nearly died with IMHA, it took 3 blood tranfusions to buy enough time for the medication to work, After spending over a week in the hospital, he was still a mess, We had to give him medication for months before he was back to his usualy self, Anyway the little guy pulled through it... We got lucky.

3 years old is still pretty young so he should do well - he just might need extra meds, let the vet know about the IMHA. Our collie has officially been retired from working, showing, and service work but we aren't going to neuter him, he's 11 and it would be extremely risky (even though he looks great for an 11 year old collie).
