Franka,

If you don't want to heed the advice given and think that .pw will be the best thing since sliced bread, by all means invest your life savings, borrow on your home and cash out your 401k to invest in the best of the best (laughable) of .pw.

Please update us with a success story to enlighten our closed minds.

(For the sake of you not going homeless please take the above as extreme sarcasm)

LOL Franka you've been a member for a long time, you are not a noob right ?
What happened to the countless TLDs released in recent years like .sx for example ?
How many domainers did benefit ?

Just because there are registrations doesn't mean there will be many sales.

appgames.com was recently sold for around $35000.
How much would "appgames.pw" be worth?
What would be more important to a website, the name or the extension.

Appgames.com.au would be worth more than .pw

Congrats to the seller for 35k. IMO the two terms clash as applications are mostly referred to programs like Office and games to Angry Birds.

AppGames? AppsAndGames? Or am I missing something like an acronym for APP? Time will tell.

Either way, it's .pig wallow in this ccTLD/gTLD.

1.
If you like gambling, you could take a SMALL fling by being the first to register something that would be worth millions in .com, just to feel like you are in the game. It can't cost much if you gamble on only three or four .pw domains (like sex.pw, engineering.pw, and science.pw). Just understand that your chances to win this lottery are worse than winning a megabucks lottery. This is a fling, not a business strategy. I do wish you luck though.

2.
The only preexisting high-recognition meaning of PW is password. When I first head of .pw, I tried but could not imagine what yoursite.pw would provide in relation to password technology.

At least the implication of placing your site at yoursite.tv is fulfillable by your video content. And even if .ws never comes to mean "website" at least the language of the island of Samoa is English so that domains like watersafety.ws or boats.ws could have some (small) natural value. And tourism there is a big enough industry to enjoy political fights over building casinos.

But Palau?!?!? Palau is a splatter of 250 tiny islands with an average of 80 people per island. Its "industries" (ha ha) are subsistence farming and subsistence fishing. Most of its domestic national product is foreign aid. There is NO (none, nada, nichts, ZERO) natural usage to provide value as a higher-than-reg-fee floor under these domains.

Pigeon Shit is bad enough to find on the shoulder. Pigeon Wank is worse. LOL
Yeah, I say this thing they came up with was worse than pigeon shit, pigeon wank maybe..."professional web"....that household term we all use 20 times/day

Whenever those brains want to come up with an ext that will 'revolutionize' the industry they assign a short ext (as I understand only country codes can be two-letter exts) to some "country" whose pop is smaller than the number of DNF guys now online to justify their idea, ie .WS is strictly Western Samoa, .CC Cocos Islands and here .PW is Palau. Sometimes annual reg for these fancy exts is so high that it makes it even harder to take a chance on them. Like .CC is still $18+/yr, remarkable for an extension touted the next big thing (cc=credit card.....aren't they clever), now even if you have the hottest word, LLL or NNN in .CC ppl won't take it for free

Though I would've expected more of .SX lmfao, the official ccTLD for Sint Maarten, well... anyone who's loaded and chooses to vacation in the Dutch Antilles should be getting lots of .SX, at least as long as they're there and paying for it...

:hippie:

Serious tho, XXX sites should've gotten a hold of this one since .SX becomes associated with sex easily
