Maybe save the dog's produce in a bag and mail it to Sedo HQ? :-D

Great idea. You have to pick up the dog doo darr in the UK anyway. Don't forget the stamp at the corner shop.

I have to agree with Acro, i will not bid on a domain listed at sedo. I was tempted with one domain offered on a forum, i enquired the owner sent me in the direction of sedo..... hmm additional costs for someone who is tight fisted doesnt go down well.....
I refuse to bid on a domain at Sedo since the introduction of their auctions. If I want to buy a domain, I have a budget in mind. Say I have $15k to spend. If the name goes for $16k at the end of an auction then I dont have enough to purchase. But give it another month and I would have enough. There is a chance that I will lose the domain! So why would I bid in the first place with the chance that I could lose out?

Sedo probably thinks that they will make more money because domains might be sold for higher prices, but I am pretty sure over time, the amount of domains sold there will decrease.

Most of my fellow domainers agree with me and will only use Afternic or plain old fashion email.

Ah, whatever Sedo!

Afternic is the same. Their 'Closing Soon' section is another auction that the seller can push the name to after having first received an offer.

I've had fake 11k bids and fake traffic and stuff like that at both places. Kinda sad because there is zero accountability, ZERO. They have no ability to enforce anything. So, these offer could be simply false and you can't do anything about it. Not a negative response just a real issue that has happen to me. Cheers,

I've done this and had the buyer contact me ( through afternic) with a higher offer to end the auction at which point I reduced the selling price to the offer and closed the sale (ended the auction)
..sedo does not as far as I've seen give you the option to accept a higher offer by the original buyer and close the auction early.

also the communication seller/buyer is better at afternic as sedo only allows Offer/Counter-offer communications

Okay, update Guys.
Spoke to Sedo Germany today, have to say the woman i spoke to is lovely!
Anyway, apparently buyers can withdraw bids ! Apparently within an hour or so.The technical team say all is fine, so i will take their word on it.
On a reassuring note i mentioned how many endusers there are that would love this name & i have sent some mails.
I asked if their brokers approach endusers from time to time. Apparently they do & will do some legwork. Touch wood eh?
Makes sense all round really. I need this baby to fly , so here's hoping.
Keep your toes crossed for me!

Pred - you said you entered the name at zero start bid with a reserve - I have sent three premium names (My opinion) to [email protected] with absolutely zero response - what did you do to get the name in the auction?

I guess she won't be receiving a present from your dog.

That bid retracting rule seems a bit slack. Can you retract a bid 2 minutes before the end ? How does it work ?

Hi Creature,
according to sedo, bidders can retract a bid up to an hour after placing it.
Well, their system didn't show till a day or two after so who knows.
The auction has 3 days + to run, so fingers crossed some others get involved.
You learn something new every day!
