Hello

What do You think of this one? Ok there was a name WYATTERP.COM , that droppe din 10.03.2003 , it had a snap, so I but a bid in namewinner $8,75 ok then I saw taht this was pending, in 10.03.2003, I was the highets bidder, ok, till this time everything is ok, but when I yesterday checked, it was registered for someone else, so I contacted them, and they sayd:

Customer support sayd:

"We checked into what happened with WYATTERP.COM. That domain was actually in the process of being transferred to Dotster by its original owner, and the transfer completed on the day the domain was scheduled to expire. So it never actually dropped, but because the registrar changed to Dotster, Namewinner got confused and thought it had grabbed the domain. I apologize for the confusion and the system making you think you had won it when it had not actually dropped and been grabbed by Namewinner."

What do You think? I think that they again stole one name from me, like one before?

Customer support sayd

"The domain WYATTERP.COM was indeed scheduled to expire on March 10th. It wouldn't have dropped for a minimum of 35 days after that (because of the Redemption Grace Period), but because it was close to expiring I'm sure that it *was* showing up on drop lists. However, the owner was in the process of transferring it here, and the transfer completed on March 10th just in time to give him the extra year renewal before the domain expired."

Is it possible? ANd can someone send me the whois info for that name in 10.03.20002?

"not only must you be ethical, you must have and maintain the appearance of being ethical".

The fact that the new registrar was Dotster justs adds to the muck.

If the domain was in PENDING DELETE, then I think something seems fishy.

Someone just sent me whois,

Domain Name: WYATTERP.COM
Registrar: DOTSTER, INC.
Whois Server: whois.dotster.com
Referral URL: http://www.dotster.com/help/whois
Name Server: NS1.ACTARG.COM
Name Server: NS1.PICDEVELOPMENT.COM
Status: ACTIVE
Updated Date: 11-mar-2003
Creation Date: 10-mar-2003
Expiration Date: 10-mar-2004

Creation Date: 10-mar-2003 , --->It shows that the name was not in transfer, If it would have been in transfer, then the creation date most be another, so they really did take away a name that, I supposed to get, and they lied to me, about the transfer, AMZING,

Although im not saying I agree with Dotster, but sometimes when you transfer a domain to another registrar, the whois creation date will change. I've seen this happen many times when selling domains.

Too bad, stuff.
I don't think it's a transfer, either.
I see that creation date of each registrar's whois could show mis-information but not happened on registry's whois.

I am also pretty sure, that they simply took the name from me, and gave it to this guy, I don`t know how much he payd for it?
And then they lie, that this name was in transfer; I will contact them again, maybe somone can suggest to whom I can turn with my problem?

According to whoises, this domain was deleted and was dropped.
Stuff did you receive an e-mail from snapnames reflecting two whois records before and after the drop?
I wish Mark Mirford could comment this. Dotster customer representative is either incompetent or lies.

However... there MIGHT be transfer initiated and paid. Transfer initiated from old registrar to dotster. Initiated by previous owner.
This transfer failed. Domain was deleted. Dotster got this domain and mistakenly assumed it was done via completion of transfer. However it was not. Namewinner got it.
Unfortunately I beleive that you have no chances to get this domain though

Here is all info which I'm having;

Domain Name: WYATTERP.COM
Registrar: ASCIO TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
Whois Server: whois.ascio.com
Referral URL: http://publicwhois.ascio.com
Name Server: NS1.ACTARG.COM
Status: REDEMPTIONPERIOD
Updated Date: 01-feb-2003
Creation Date: 06-jan-2000
Expiration Date: 06-jan-2003

It's interesting that name server is assigned to same server.
I don't know how recover domains in redemption period, actually.
It could be a special case in transfer.

And now it`s:

Domain Name: WYATTERP.COM
Registrar: DOTSTER, INC.
Whois Server: whois.dotster.com
Referral URL: http://www.dotster.com/help/whois
Name Server: NS1.ACTARG.COM
Name Server: NS1.PICDEVELOPMENT.COM
Status: ACTIVE
Updated Date: 11-mar-2003
Creation Date: 10-mar-2003
Expiration Date: 10-mar-2004

But could it be that this name still dropped in 10 ? Or not?

I found this in whois-search.com

REDEMPTIONPERIOD: The registry sets this status when a registrar requests
that the domain name be deleted from the registry and the domain has been
registered for more than 5 calendar days (if the delete request is received
within 5 days of initial domain registration it will instead be deleted
immediately). The domain will not be included in the zone. The domain can
not be modified or purged; it can only be restored . Any other registrar
requests to modify or otherwise update the domain will be rejected. The
domain will be held in this status for a maximum of 30 calendar days.

So I think in REDEMPTIONPERIOD there can be no transfer?

There is no rule without exceptions. :)
Who knows?

Oh, the owner of the domain must know :D
