Now I know I'm on the wrong Domain Name board. Don't take this wrong, but when an individuals "throws" numbers out there without any explanation for the valuation, it isn't considered a legitimate appraisal. More like a "gut" feel. That's fine if you felt some kind of "expertise" from the valuations he gave, but as someone that has done this for a living I can say he missed his appraisal valuations probably 95% of the time. The ones he did get right were "TruhlyAmazingStuffs.cc"... Of course it was given a "$0.00" Dr Who.... Duh?? I remember one time he gave GuardSecurity.com a "$0.00".... Check it out for yourself. See his response, and check out everyone else's.

This is Dr Who on record:

Trying to "make" him out to be a domain appraising genius flies in the face of any true common sense IMHO.

I will say this. Dr Who shouldn't be the poster child for bad appraisals. Coolhost had over 4300 posts and I never seen a one worth looking at. Honest opinion. In fact there was one time Coolhost gave a Domebase $0 on one of his domains when he didn't know what a "nano" was.

This is crazy.

So what?! He PMed some people and asked them if they wanted to go to another forum. Big deal. Man, I am really regretting buying this membership.

What rule did he violate?? Please state the number.

BTW, I guess I am breaking rule 12. Is my ban coming next??

Proposals several months ago addressed precisely this topic...

http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=182062&highlight=rules#post182062

sadly... appear to have been ignored.

Based on true common sense, it would appear then that DrWho was banned for devaluing the domain price of other resellers. The promote other people's forum bit is just a smokescreen?

He should have read the text in header graphics "for serious domain owners".

All this nonsense about what he appraised names at is besides the point anyway. This is about a banning that took place because he private messaged some people. Note the word I just used - PRIVATE!

To quote GiantDomains:

He was ONLY coming to this forum to promote another forum? He tried to keep this secret? I certainly do not agree with those statements. I believe that he did contribute to this forum. You can say anything you want about the quality of his appraisals, but he certainly kept activity on the forum. Can you say 18.70 posts per day?

As for the matter of trying to keep it a secret. No, I believe he was trying to keep within the forum rules. It is plain and obvious that it would be wrong to openly invite members of this forum to another forum, that deals with the same topic, in the public sections on this site. But, by inviting select people through PM's, I feel he did nothing wrong.

Hmmm... Instead of discussing the latest ecommerce trends, or what each plans to do with the hundreds of domains we purchased in LR1/2 & Biz B2B, we've spent the last week trying to demystify what's happened to CH/MC/Dr Who.... Talk about a waste of time. Irregardless of what you think, these people have been polarizers. They simply ignored their last warning. And if you think mgmt is only after certain people, I myself have been warned. Not that it means anything to anyone here, but it does mean that they are serious.

They appear to want to bring in serious end user business. That's what I've been waiting for now for 5 years. Somebody who really wanted to take this business seriously. As for you all, I'm not sure what you're plans are but if you haven't noticed, all domain forums fold. Not because of mgmt, but because of the "bickering". Yeah, a foot has been put down, and to some of us it's welcomed. I want End Users to come on this board and feel like they can do business. That's why I've been supportive of GregR, and now the new owner.

I am not much of a sports person.. but I guess "Monday morning quaterbacking" is saying how things should have gone after the Sunday game? If so, then I guess I was "Friday evening quarterbacking" -- having proposed reasonable solutions to clarify things and prevent exactly this type of situation months before it happened. Anyway -- enough of this. Take care.

Hey Dome... I was joking... ha, ha, hardy har, har. If there has been anyone that has tried to come up with solutions, it's been you. However there is a new owner who came on after you originally posted your comments. Just an FYI...

This is the dumbest explanation I have heard!

In reality we all know that no one can appraise any domains at its true value. To me a domain abcd.com might be more than it is to you?

And inviting for other pms is not a big deal because atleast he wasn't saying "Leave this forum and join the other" ?

If things like these can get someone banned I suggest you guys post something in the Rules and Regulations, as, if it were someone else, I wouldn't mind taking legal action.

Good luck

One thing I might suggest before taking "legal action" is to get the facts.
