AD-SUPPORTED HOSTING WITH WEB SITE BUILDER!
"Create an Ad-supported 5-page Web site. Drag-&-drop text/images, add your photos or graphics and much more! Password-protected Web pages, specialty content and editing features make it secure and simple! FREE at GoDaddy.com"

https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/domain_offer.asp

This is a major shift in changing the revenue stream to include AdSense content+search. It would be interesting to see how would WWD apply that for their resellers?

I don't think that domain owners will profit from income that their domains generate from visitors clicking on AdSense ads. All that will go to GoDaddy's pockets! Although, if they introduce some kind of a profit sharing will be quite attractive for domainers, or they'll keep that option only for big domain portfolio holders? Also, it is interesting why did they prefer AdSense against YPN ads?

Was interested, but not surprised what-so-ever, by the GD mailing about their new ad-supported hosting service.... they're jumping onto the "free" web services paradigm so well executed by Google.

I think it works for online apps (such as word processing, email, etc) but for generic hosting, sure for a personal site, but if you have a serious online presence requirement and intend to monetize it... why have GD ads taking away your revenue (and eyeballs?)

they just started giving the wwd resellers access to this, so that combined with the pro reseller ppc kickback for the google syndication is cool, any domain name gets a free hosting credit for regular hosting, quick blog and wst

they just updated their ppc stuff for resellers:

Pay-Per-Click advertising means paying for an ad based on the number of times it's clicked. You can now make money from Pay-Per-Click advertising faster than ever. We've changed the Pay-Per-Click revenue share percentage to 65% after the first $25 (down from $50)... and that price drop means you can start making money sooner!

There's more to this now... you can use the free hosting credit to set up an ad-supported Economy plan with them.

You get 5 gigs of space and 250 gigs of bandwidth for free, and you can do the nice things like MySQL, PHP, .htaccess and whatnot.
