How do I know which ones I won?

Directi has been really vague with their email. My control panel looks something like this:

4 pre-registration:15907:psychology.co.in
Domain Forwarding - Buy Now >>
Mail Forwarding - Buy Now >>
Managed DNS - Buy Now >>

5 pre-registration:15907:rx.in
Domain Name - Click To Manage >>
Domain Forwarding - Buy Now >>
Mail Forwarding - Buy Now >>
Managed DNS - Buy Now >>

6 pre-registration:15907:mentalhealth.co.in
Domain Forwarding - Buy Now >>
Mail Forwarding - Buy Now >>
Managed DNS - Buy Now >>

7 pre-registration:15907:pharmacy.in
Domain Name - Click To Manage >>
Domain Forwarding - Buy Now >>
Mail Forwarding - Buy Now >>
Managed DNS - Buy Now >>

8 pre-registration:15907:psychology.in
Domain Name - Click To Manage >>
Domain Forwarding - Buy Now >>
Mail Forwarding - Buy Now >>
Managed DNS - Buy Now >>

-------------------------------------

Does this mean that I bought rx.in, pharmacy.in, and psychology.in but I didn't get psychology.co.in or mentalhealth.co.in?

Whilst the feeding frenzy was on for .in I guessed few people would be looking at .co.in , already in use in India and quite well established.

Got some nice ones including :

Porno.co.in

DVD.co.in

HDTV.co.in

Goa.co.in One of India's most popular tourist destinations

PDA.co.in

Manga.co.in

So it sounds like Directi screwed up, and they can't figure out how to assign the domains that had more than one person reserve them. Does this mean that they will accept bribes? Play eeny-meany-miney-mo?

What a mess.

IMPORTANT! Process followed for Domains that have Multiple Applicants:

In case we have successfully registered a domain for which we have received multiple applications - as announced earlier on, we were going to allot domains using a silent auction.

However, we have received a notification from the .IN Domain Registry (Advisory No. LA 01) in the last 24 hrs stating that .IN domain registrars cannot auction or sell .IN domains at prices higher than they usually charge from their customers.

Due to this notification we may no longer be able to use the auction process even though we do not wish to go back on the initial process that we had announced.

We are still finalizing the new allocation process after getting more clarifications from the registry. We will be posting an update once this process has been finalized by us. As of right now, we believe that we should be finalizing the allocation process by Tuesday, 22nd Feb and finishing the allocation latest by Friday, 25th Feb.

ghandi.co.in
crawl.in
drip.in
snip.in

Fair play!

I didn't really get any that I was going for, (thought I could beat the autobots) and had to go to plan B. Nothing come through from the lucky domain lead. So on came plan C. DD24

In short ended up with a load of strange ones.

There are still some good ones left for the taking but not for long. They will go quickly within the next 48HRS (same as with .US open registrations). I bought about 50 names today. Let the games begin!

Westblock: It looks like idotz.net is doing them as well at about $19 (there pricing page seems down) but would be a little cheaper if I'm right. - but from what I remember about them - they have a delay before reg. (a few hours), although could be wrong. They do take paypal which is handy for some.
If they have a delay - there is a good chance some one else snaps the name in the mean time. Others here may know more about them.

I'm sure others will sping up - shame enom were not quicker.

Hence I put the warning above - I though they had some sort of problem before. I did seem to remember it took a few hours with a different extension and all the good ones they could not reg. (got a fast refund though). I bought a lot from DD24 several hours ago and they showed on whois within minutes. They must have a direct connection.

May be idotz do theres by hand when they wake up. Sorry I did not test it, but I finnish my buying hours ago and don't feel the need for any more.

Now time to look at whats dropping today - in the way of real domains.
