There are allot of reseller accounts on eBay for $6.95 registrations.
And I have been researching to find the best deal out there.
A few ppl. from this forum have offered me accounts, two were very rude and demanding, and the third has answered all of my questions, email after email, after email, and always ended each email with 'Mail me if you have any other questions. Thanks'.

Hmmmmmm, I wonder which one I will choose?

This is 'business', so one question for the forum before I 'sign on the dotted line'.

Is there anyone that can beat $6.95?
By a dime?
A nickel?
A penny?

thanks

Penny wise, pound foolish

Nice saying.....now what do you mean?

I was looking for the cheapest reg price/ free email/free cloaking/ free forwarding /free transfers/free web pages/etc.

If theres more, please tell me.
I just want to offer customers every advantage, help, and, freebie possible.

Links to Free trademark search, free gifs, free SE submissions, free keyword lookup, free advise, etc.

What would make the perfect register?

I haven't been in this game long, but I wish someone had pointed out to me in the beginning all the stuff that I know now.
It would have saved some $$$$$.

I've drawn the line at $8. I found a volume reseller with a real corporation and real customer service (powerpipe.com) and I am sticking with them rather than use someone's 15 y.o. nephew with trust fund monies enough to buy an eNom reseller account who sells at 7.50 or 6.95.

I don't own thousands of domains, so paying the extra buck to deal with a company likely to be around next week rather than a kid with coins is worth it to me.

Mole can answer for himself but I think it is pretty obvious. You stated that "A few ppl. from this forum have offered me accounts, two were very rude and demanding, and the third has answered all of my questions, email after email, after email, and always ended each email with 'Mail me if you have any other questions."

So the third guy is offering you a great price and great service, but you are still looking around because you might save a penny somewhere else. That is being penny wise (you save a penny) and pound foolish (you may lose a lot of pounds - it's a British saying) - dealing with someone cheaper but not nearly as professional.

You say you are continue to look because "it is business" - yes, but it may not be very smart business.

Any register can go under.
In another forum every other week there is a post saying,'What happened to 'blankdomains.com'?
If they go under I can pick up another reseller account in a few hours.
And my customers get cheaper prices.

That is certainly true John, but the guy who is giving you the lowball figure is probably more likely to go under than the guy giving you great service and charging the few cents more than might allow him to actually make a profit and stay in business.

I signed up with a guy from this forum for $7.10 a name. I've seen $6.95 offered. Do you think I care? Not at all. This guy is great - answers every email almost immediately and is a total delight to deal with.

I honestly think ICANN put their stupid foot in their brain when they tried to liberalise domain prices.

In the span of just a few short years, the domain assignment role has been relegated to a flea market. :sigh:

Well I wouldn't go that far! I am glad to see any monopoly broken up and competition brought to the marketplace.

Sure, competition is good.

But when profit margins are wafer thin, humans effectively produce for zero growth. That is bad economics, and one of the reasons why stock markets are in such horrific states.:shy:

I agree.
I first used the word 'domain' less than a year ago, and after much searching I was very happy to find 1coms.com where I could reg. Domains at $12.
After that I saw GoDaddy, and couldn't believe it. Then PowerPipe, now WebJeff; wheres the bottom?
It seems that many ppl. are making their money from selling reseller accounts on eBay,etc, and NOT from registering domains.
This has to implode somewhere down the line.
I wonder if it will take eNom down with it?

Nothing will take eNom down. They are more stable than any other registrar I know of.

On a different subject, stop blowing your emails out of proportion John. "Very rude" ....... that's just not true. I'm sorry if I couldn't be there to hold your hand any longer, in your attempt to save an extra penny. I'm also sorry that you (claim) didn't receive the additional information I sent you too. I spent a lot of time on it, and I really felt you were the one being rude by not writing me back.

email from HC:
Hi, my email is acting weird. Sorry if you get this more than once.
---------------------------------------
I received the same email 4 times.
About 6 hours(?) later I received this one:
----------------------------------------
I've written you back several times with NO response.
I went out of my way to try and help you.
My offer is no longer valid. You apparently are not a serious buyer. Thanks for wasting my time...........
----------------------------------------
I emailed back that I didn't receive the responses. I didn't receive a reply; more email trouble?
After furthur review, I still consider your last email rude.

btw How did you know I was talking about you?
I mentioned the last 3 offers, but there were more than that. Interesting....

I read an interesting post in a bible forum, the title was:
'Weapons of Mass Destruction'

The list:
Hate - Greed - Selfishness - Ego ,etc.

After seeing your reg. price, I wasn't interesed. But, (greed/selfishness) I thought I could get some info from you and THEN ask if you could lower your price.
If I had responded with that first, all of this could have been avoided.

JUDGEMENT DAY, will be interesting.

I'm just going to plead 'guilty'.

So I take it you have a copy of their most recent financial statement?

If you look at how much they sell domains for, and do the math, you won't believe they are financially stable at all.

I predict that eNom and GoDaddy both will be the property of one of the top three registrars in the next 12 months. Tick, tick, tick.

I saw a great comment by a former Verisign employee who was talking about their managment view of the competition like eNom, "Soon, all your domains belong to us." Companies the size of Verisign can easily pick up financially instable small companies - and eventually will - just my opinion of course.

Does Verisign have any money left?

eNOM depends on superior technology efficiency to stay buoyant. They give customers what they want, both on the high end ie $29 and low end ie $7. It's called covering all bases.

Unlike Netsol.... grrr

eNom taken over by Verisign?????, I don't think so.

Verisign has their hands full trying to survive their own legal problems and blunders which seem to get worse and worse everyday. Why does WORLDCOM come to mind whenever I think of Verisign....... hahahaha

I really don't think eNom has anything to worry about. Just my opinion of course. :)

Exactly Mole. eNom is simply better technology. Plus they are honest. That seems to help. Verisign should have tried it.

Finally something I can agree with. I thought I was going have to beat up all the guys around here.

Mole, you are off my list. :) Abrams1117 you too because our thing was just a misunderstanding. :)
