At this point considering all have received their names back I also recommended and always was going to, his banning. We obviously cannot keep him from rejoining under an alias but what scares me more is this...

Susan mentioned he had a partner Dan Right, Grant admitted he had a partner named Dan in this thread confirming it. Now Grant says Dan is away for a month  Regardless of his real existance or not he could be a member here.

Banning may feel good briefly, but I'm not convinced it always serves it's purpose. Sometimes it's better to keep a known identity right in front of you.

I think instead of banning, it would be more fun to label a scammer as "fair game". That means anyone can throw a punch at them whenever they post or start a thread, and the mods won't do anything about it. "Fair Game" could be the title under their username so they will be branded for all new members to know what they are.

I am doing some more research...

Here is another interesting sale...

AMMS.com I only say it's interesting for the following reasons.

Admin email prior to entering pending renewal or deletion [email protected]
Admin email after the name was redeemed/renewed prio to dropping [email protected]
After this it switches to Grants info some days later [email protected]
Then for no reason I can imagine it keeps all Grants info but the email changes to [email protected] ( Is this Grants mysterious partner Mr. Right ? )
Eventually whois switches to the buyer of the domain [email protected] ( I think Mike is a member here ? )

Now what is making me really suspicious is the email [email protected] was the same email I recalling see in a name he stole. If that is proven true he stole this name as well. I could be wrong but I will try to back it up through research. There is no way [email protected] should immediately show as the admin contact out of pending renewal or delete if he bought it. Infact it speaks of another stolen name and guess from where ! Netsol.

This is a business forum, and it should be dealt with professionally. A real estate agent that is crooked loses his/her license. A the same with a stock broker, or any such. It should be the same here.
It's a pity you can't make sure he doesn't come back under a new alias, but banning is the only possible thing, I'm afraid.
I'm also afraid this business soon will need some kind of market regulation... I don't like it at all, but if that's what it takes to keep criminals out I'm afraid something has to be done.

Proving now unless Grant cares to prove otherwise BOTH AMMS.com and FT8.com are STOLEN ! See proof below or use your whois history tool, I knew that email was familiar, Grant Grant Grant you slimmy POS. Looks like he stole berntgroup@msn some how and used it for admin email when he got AMMS.com . Read my first discovery of this two posts up.

Adam would have banned him a while ago but it was in Susans and Donnachas best interest to keep him active until the names were returned. Now there is evidence of more.

Could he have stolen "brentgroup@msn" by naming it "berntgroup@msn"? Or is that just coincidence.

Possible, I just called FT8.com admin number and he says he is not that email and doesnt know who is BUT he does work for UTRC, Pratt & Whitney and is a sales rep. Also stated he isnt familiar with any sale of ft8.com . His name is John and please do not bother him as he is driving...lol

Looks like alldig ( Mike ) bought amms.com . Mike I think you need to ask Grant for a proof of purhase and remember there are no magical scripts...lol

And to ADMIN/ADAM I ask that this thread not be locked yet, much to uncover.

Grant has shown himself to be deceptive, immature and generally unsavory once boxed into a corner. He has also been disturbingly slow to right the wrongs that were committed. However, I am going to say one thing on his behalf; This quote below does read like someone who believes they had legitimately obtained a drop domain:

"If the name meant a big deal to you, you would keep your eyes on it and never let it expire. In fact, you didn't renew it and you accepted the expiration of the name voluntarily. You gave up the name, and now you regret for your own mistake. We warn you, you are potentially engaged in a REVERSE DOMAIN HIJACKING attempt!"

"We are extremely aggressive in pursuing charges for reverse domain hijackings. We have no objection for you to file a UDRP against us. However, we are sure that you will deeply regret for doing so."

I'm willing to accept that he didn't set out to commit a crime. However, his behaviour was disturbing once confronted with the reality of his actions. And I'm thinking JP is probably right, there are probably several other domains obtained this way that Grant has no intention of mentioning to us.

To me that sounds more like the cons I used to see in my jail every day. His threatening message is meant to scare away the real domain owner. Notice his hyper-inflated sense of worth and belonging by using 'we'. There probably is no 'we' but just him in his parent's basement stealing domains.

He is punk and is due no pity what so ever. And if true justice was to be meted out this idiot would be in handcuffs, on his way to county jail for his arraignment hearings for theft over $1000. He should also be facing civil court action on behalf of those he harmed. How much parking money have they lost - how about their time spent etc etc etc?

Ok for arguementsa sake lets assume he was using a service that hijacked names pre drop during pending phase and he didnt know that is how it was done. The main issue I have with that is he didn't JUST get those names but names associated with that account that were not dropping AND had to know getting someones password and login for their domain account/email was infact stealing. That is why it is just not possible to believe he was just naive, if anything he probably had it made up to cover him should he get caught. He told so many lies as to how he obtained them because he knew even his excuse of a mythical program was chalked full of holes. Any way you slice it he knew exactly what he was doing, robbing. Not to mention on the new discover just above he changed the admin email THREE yes THREE times in a matter of like a week. Someone looking to cover their tracks obviously.

Good point. Getting entire accounts instead of just one domain would certainly set off alarm bells for someone who thought what they were doing was legit.

I'm going to rethink this and guess that his justification was "these people are just going to let these domains drop anyway".

For what it's worth, AlienGG sold me a domain about a month ago that was taken without authorization (ie stolen).

According to Grant, he bought it from someone on MSN. I returned the domain to the owner and he refunded the purchase price.
