Quickly guys, call security and fetch some sedation!

Actually in addition to being total deluded there appears to be a numeracy problem here! 10,000 blocks at $2 per block is $20,000, but this guy is planning to give away $200,000. If anyone believes he has the resources and honesty to pay up then you should book the entire page at a profit of $180,000. Even if he hasn't you could sue his ass!

or is my maths up the creek?

Best Regards

Actually the terms are so confusing I cannot work out whether the page values is:

10,000 x 2 = $20,000
20 x 10,000 = $200,000
or 2 x 1000,000 = $2,000,000

anyway there is a trade descriptions issue here as it is certainly not a Billion unless the Americans have changed the definition again!

Ok Your site says a 10x10 block costs $20 that is $0.20 per pixel then if i buy 10,000 pixels that would be 10,000 x $0.20 = $2000. So does that mean if i spend $2000 and buy pixels then I win my $2000 back.

Edit

just checked your paypal button so it is charging $2 per 10x10 pixel. so if i buy 10,000 pixels then it would be $200. Great then i can be the 10,000 pixel buy and get $2000.

EDIT:

Your site says
Each 10x10 block costs US $20, equating to a cost of $2 per pixel.

if $2 per pixel that would be $200 not $20

again under terms and condtions it says

The minimum purchase is $2 (100 pixels), and the maximum purchase is whatever is left

if minumum purchase is $2 then 1 pixcel should be $0.02.

I was going to say his lack of ads was at least genuinue but unless the largely moronic following of this latest craze is even worse than expected, this is a Scam as he already has one posting with six hits.

Someone asked why... well in another forum they think it will pass pagerank - First- it has no pagerank to pass, Second, images pass very little PR if any. I bought a site that had hundreds of old banner ads people never took down and they pass NO pr!

"We tried Million Dollar Homepage because we were impressed at the level of ingenuity and the sheer simplicity of it. If we're honest, we didn't expect too much from it. Now, as a direct result, we are pitching for £18,000 GBP worth of new clients and have seen our site traffic increase over a hundred-fold. We're even going to have to upgrade our hosting facility! It's been exceptional."

Yes, Pitching means nothing, anyone can pitch.

£18,000 is peanuts as that is gross not profit.

Most Clients wouldn't admit to finding you via Milliondollarhomepage.com anyway.

An excellent concept and well thought idea. Everyone's clicking, thats all that matters.
:-D

What matters is that clickers buy and that viewers are intentional viewers, if the traffic generated is real then it's probably because of the hype sparkled curiosity.

yes, I think the fad is ending soon, but I had it in Web user magizine last week! It has been funny, as I just thought maybe I'll have say 10 links, and ended up with 111 links!

I have noticed something quite strange. According to the Whois both milliondollarhomepage dot com and milliondollarshomepage dot com have the same information. Typing www.milliondollarshomepage dot com goes to a forwarded site named youllbefamous dot com which is also a pixel ads site. The Whois for youllbefamous dot com has different information, however, than that for milliondollarshomepage although both are registered with GoDaddy. The hook for youllbefamous is that when the pixels are sold out they will pay for a full page ad in USA Today listing all the advertisers...giving a way for internet websites to advertise offline in a media that gets huge exposure for as little as $100. Pretty sharp idea too! Now I wonder if, because of the intertwining, it is actually a way for Alex Tew to really have another pixels site in some way when he says he won't. Just questioning.

Hi joseph,

I thought you'd like to hear my big news: I've almost hit the million dollar
mark! I say "almost" because there are still 1,000 pixels available, and due
to exceptionally high demand, I'm auctioning them off on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5652179487&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:UK:31

MillionDollarHomepage.com has received over 1 million unique visitors in the
last 48 hours due to a surge in international media coverage (Reuters, CNN,
ABC, BBC etc.) which has caused demand for pixels to outstrip supply by a
huge amount. Therefore auctioning the last 1,000 pixels on eBay seemed like
the best option.

Find out how things have unfolded in the past few days on my blog at
www.milliondollarhomepage.com/blog.php

Oh, and happy new year!

Cheers

Alex Tew
