CellService is a good one,
keep looking, as I am sure these all will come up trumps given the quality companies with a vested interest in making .mobi work.

I think I have picked up 8 good names by dotster.com. For some reason, only one is billed and shows up in my account. That one is: MANUFACTURER.MOBI. I am not really sure if I had the rest. I did got an email from dotster that they picked up those names for me.... hum... emailing dotster now.

Will post here once I confirm I own those other names.

Wow, looks like some of you got some good generics... great job!
I couldnt get any during the pre-reg period.
I got all the LLL.mobi that i wanted

Might wait another week or so to see how many LLL are left.
My guess it wont be many.
It starts with 17,576 LLL.mobi

All the LLL.mobi words are gone.
I'm guessing that number will be significantly lower if not gone before general public, will wait and see :)

The whois for mobi names registered at dotster.com is starting to update.

I ordered a bunch of names there and it seems there is quite a bit of confusion still.

You can look in your "my billing " category of your dotster.com account and look at orders labeled "complete" to see names you have gotten.

Im very confused how the dotster system worked. I preregistered about $8,000 worth of domains many months ago, some of which i knew i wouldnt get .. but others had a chance at.

Firstly i got an email from dotster about 3 weeks ago that said I would not be getting some of the names. They listed all those names i wouldnt get and then i marked them off my prereg list.

Last week i got an email that said they had people that preregistered some of the other names on my list before i did .. and that i would not be getting those names. So i again marked those off my list, and was left with about 10 names that i should have got if Dotster was able to get them.

So this morning i received an email stating that i had billed for one name .. and it showed in my account. But none of the others did. I whois'd the rest of those names, and it appeared that Dotster did infact get 4 or 5 of the other ones left on my list.

Should i have not gotten those names as well, since i did not receive previous emails from dotster saying that others were ahead of me on the pre regs? If no one was ahead of me when they snapped the names, i should have gotten them.

JESports:

Credit card companies were inundated with an influx of rapid fire .mobi domain charges. Consequently, several credit card companies put a "hold" on account holders. I experienced this when I pre-ordered 40 .mobi domains and my credit card company stopped approving the transactions after 12 .mobi domain had gone thru. I talked with my credit card company & dotster today and both are working to resolve the matter and push thru my remaining transactions.

I was very happy with Dotster's results. I received some good catches (CellPhoneServices.mobi, CellPhoneRingtones.mobi, CellPhoneDownloads.mobi, etc)

i dont know about you guys, but im not going to be participating in buying any/every LLL.mobi...

.com .net and .org have like 14 years behind them.. stick to relevant names for cell phones and linked to the things theyre used for and do, on the go type of stuff.. there are still *ok* one word names available, and excellent 2 worders.. i will be registering some more all today.. i did acquire some NNN.mobi like 799 and 801 201 301 type of stuff..but reseller club hasnt informed me which are mine yet.. the only LLL.mobi i grabbed was dik.mobi

.mobi's future is unclear.. dont let yourself be stuck with a bunch of the ".names" of 2006..heh

Ok Mike, thanks for your info ... I take it you were somehow notified by Dotster or your credit card company of the problem?

The exact same thing happend to me, too!
In addition I recently received an email stating that someone is before me in the line for some of my domains, though I had them confirmed in early May.
@JEsports and all other, who didn't get .mobi's registered with dotster, please get in contact with me, so we can check if everything went in order here.

For them it's easy to say "someone has been faster..."

Last night, looking around, I found and reg'd GolfPro.

Went against my own rule about only buying mobi domains that are pertinent to the mark... but I couldn't resist.

So yeah, there are still some great names out there :)

Hi JE,

If you go into your dotster.com account and go to "my billing" your orders should show.

There should be "complete orders" and "failed orders"

Any name in the "complete" order with an invoice number next to it is one that should be in your account.

Any name in the "failed orders" account that says "pending" is one that still needs to be paid for and will be yours after payment.

All the ones that say "failed" in both accounts are ones that you were beat on or were won by other registers etc.

Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Strange that they (.mobi) think that 'Creature' is a premium name and 'England' is not.

There are no "failed orders" or "pending orders" in my account .. only one completed order. I just got off the phone with Dotster and was told that they didnt send the "someone is ahead of you" emails for all domains .. only the ones where several people registered the same names. Whatever that means. But basically, was told by the 14 yr old kid working for them that i won't be getting any of the others unless someone doesn't pay and im next in line. A big mess in my opinion.
