.MOBI - What were you able to land? How did the registrars' competition fare?

I don't know why you guys are registering such long .mobi names. Who's going to want to type a long name on a mobile keypad?

The same people that text message back and forth.. i used to type half of my emails on a Blackberry cellphone, you know, qwerty keyboard, that thar new technology mmmhmm

First of all, the people worried about "typing more than 12 charactors" on their cellphone are obviously not the people coordinated enough for surfing on a mobile device..

i've just regged currentaccount.mobi
can't believe was available. promised myself 'no more' but couldn't ignore. seen loads of generic one worders etc but ovt on this is 350,000 every month for uk alone!
the .com & .co.uk were snagged lightyears ago & the same bank owns both pointed to their own site.
i'm thinking a bank would love to capture the younger market & have a generic type-in!
it's for sale if they come knocking
this is one i will market when public awareness is a little better.

gotta be careful putting two words together though, i know when i reg some, what sounds good to me at the time is sometimes not so great.. ive been keeping a backlog of "ok" ones (or maybe some are crap) in a text file and not going to reg them probably ever, or unless the price drops to the same as .com

generic two worders are fine. ovt & google checks & a little think time don't hurt.
with these sort of domains i believe you cant lose. it's as simple as that. the flip side is you (we) may have a big payday, one day. good advice all over though. don't reg too many ! how many you got???

Park it at SEDO using their "lite" page. To my knowlege, it's the only one optimized for use on a mobile.

I have a few parked at Sedo... getting traffic, getting clicks and operational on my vCast Cell Phone.

Sedo is also working hard to enhance their Lite pages for Mobi use. Not much to look at on a Desktop but again, that's not the point here, is it?

this has to stop. have 14 now! wasn't gonna reg any. my c/c 's are taking a battering.
thought i'd check on christian names. LOADS left. & i mean popular ones. i have a list of some i can pm you. ( donations greedily accepted!)
the way i see it. mobile phones are so close to peoples hearts, they're like fashion statements. people get personal reg plates for same reason. what a great way to visit & contact people (other than phoning them!). your own blog sites. rather than myspace , your own name.mobi (you can forward page to myspace, but makes memorable)
pressure on guys to buy girlfriends their name.mobi?
i have 14. got to stop. lots of names, tempted to reg more. bit of an untapped mine here. your thoughts?
