60 days following every Moniker auction that I submit names for, I both email & fax the following to Moniker:

Is this even necessary any longer since we no longer have written agreements? I don't recall giving/clicking Snap exclusivity when I submitted my Traffic domains two months ago.

Thank you so much!!!

60 days following every moniker auction that i submit names for, i both email & fax the following to moniker:

Date
attn: Moniker auction services / acctrep name, moniker account representative
fax: 1-954-969-9155
per the "exclusive right to sell agreement" contract, this is my 60 day written notice to moniker of my termination of article #1: Moniker shall no longer have exclusive rights to all my domain names submitted for:
Auctionname - example: Traffic east orlando (may 20-24, 2008)
this termination notice covers all of my names submitted for consideration (subsequently all my names chosen for both the live and silent auctions).
Thank you,

Hi,
AFAICR, that 60-day exclusivity is in the rules.
It's a small dissapointment that Moniker (already) adopted to "boiler room tactics" (heard the phrase on DNF and like it very much) which is just the opposite of the customer relations they're advertizing. But...
Onward, BELLC1 and others, you said you weren't to attend next Moniker driven auctions, but haven't named the alternative. How is it possible that anything comes and replaces Moniker in following months if there isn't such a person?
So, what's the closest alternative?

The only true consideration is LIVE auction for which there is little competition and now low turnout. But there doesn't really need to be since so few domains make it to Live.

The Silent/Extended auctions are no different from SEDO, Afternic or any other venue. The only advantage of Snap over Ebay is that the latter doesn't let you see reserve. It is simply a matter of where the domains are listed and displayed. Actually, the fees are cheaper and get as much or more exposure to potential buyers.

If Moniker had one advantage, it would be that specific categories are the theme of auctions, such as Internext, or Affiliate, or Search Engine Strategies where certain genre of domains may be seen by those who work with such properties.

It's already happening with Aftermarket.com and RickLatona.com....

I usually auction my names at my garage, every Sunday between 2pm and 5pm.

And, just like at Traffic, he serves lunch and alcohol.

Last Sunday was great. Thanks.

Next week, I want to reserve a seat on the front row.

Are you going to have the dancing girls again next week?

Thanks for the info everyone... of course, it only makes me more nervous ;)
I hope I didn't make a mistake!

If you all don't like Moniker anymore, what's the alternative to selling a good domain? I tried Afternic for a while, but wasn't seeing much action... lots of views, no bids.

Also, when the extended auction starts, where can you watch it online? Snapnames is not showing my name scheduled for auction, though I know I went through all the appropriate steps (confirmed ownership, have talked to a rep, have seen it in inventory list, etc.)

Also, does anyone do additional promotion to the moniker auction... in other words, what's a good way to get people to bid in the extended auction?

As far as I know, when the Extended Auction starts, as Seller all you can do is keep an eye on the bids in your Snapnames Seller Dashboard.

Also, it won't show your name until the extended auction starts (at least it didn't for me last time).

My names have shown up in my Seller Dashboard but they are not open for bidding yet because the Extended Auction doesn't start until tomorrow morning at 7:00 EST.

Funny part is, two of my names show "Bidders, reserve not met" Of course, it doesn't show the bids, or the fact that these may have been $60 bids from three years ago...

Remember, "Bidders" doesn't mean there actually is a current bidder.

My auction is running but if I log in I can't watch it or see anything - it tells me "you cannot watch your own auctions"... it's also not showing in my account as an active auction, but there are 8 bidders already...

Nevermind, I found it...

After reading yet another bashing of our process and procedures.....which are now ironically the standards in our industry, i felt compelled to respond to the above again.

First of all, no one is forced to submit their domains to our auctions. It boggles my mind all the negativity in this thread about submitting your domains then being disappointed when your domains are not chose or only chosen for the extended auction....which by the way now has more eyeballs through our SnapNames system than all other aftermarkets combined.

Of course we have exclusivity clauses to protect double listings of names during auction times, of course we have erroneous submission fees if there is a mistake made or a pull out when names are in process of being accepted and evaluated. Of course everyone feels their names are better than the ones chosen on the live list all the time, of course you all want equal opportunity to buy and sell names in a true market where values are matched with supply and demand. I hear you...and have been hearing you for years.

Our process and procedures are actually there for your protection and protection of the the other parties involved in the transactions.

the reason there is a fee for not moving your domains over when you are notified of acceptance in auction is because we have done what you all complained about in the past - verifying ownership, ensuring safe and secure change of ownership, quicker transactions and payments after auctions, etc. Having your names all over the place and submitting names that were really not your own or you used to own but forgot to remove, or misspells, creates huge problems in the process. it creates expense and inefficiencies and it puts the reputation of our industry in jeopardy when it is not handled professionally.

Hopefully yesterday's results have now put some of you at ease....our hard work and diligence gave life to a very questionable time in our space. Selling $3M of domains in NY at these times was not an easy task.....probably the hardest auction we have had to date. Now a positive statement was made and again all of you have benefited from our efforts whether you participated in the auction and even if you did not submit one name for it.

We had more than 100K submissions for this event and selected good names at good prices. its never perfect, it will never make everyone happy, however, I can tell you first hand from the 350 people here at TRAFFIC, what occurred yesterday was a sign of some stability and financial security.

no one is forced to submit names. We continue to make improvements and add products and services that address our customers needs for those who feel their domains are assets. We will continue to do this for all of you regardless of whether you use Moniker or not.

Thanks to those that do support our process and recognize that there are challenges and opportunities when you create a new market as we did with live domain auctions. We are market makers and will continue to make this market for all you.

Congratulations on a great auction.

Anyone that knows Monte (personally) knows that he is one of the hardest working
guys in our industry.

I think he did an outstanding job.
Especially, since it was at the end of a long day and long week.

I was impressed with the numbers. Plus, he still has round #2 to go.

Good luck and "give'm H_LL" .

I still think Acro's auction is better than Monte's.
The garage atmosphere, dancing girls, and the cheap domains.

Hi all,

I have 2 of my names in extended auction. One is having no bidder (but minimum bid shows $5890) where as another one is showing 2 bidders (minimum bid still shows as $5890).

What does it mean?

The domain which have 2 bidders, is guaranteed to sell or not? I mean there is someone actually bidding on my name or not? Pls note, reserve already met.
